A cast iron wood-burning stove heated an interior that consisted of brown, leather couches, cream sheepskin rugs, and a rustic, four-poster bed whose frames seemed to be made from branches that grew through the structure.
My eyes bulged. “This is…”
“Impressive?” Sebastian wrapped an arm around my lower back. “This was our little project in my third year. Grandfather allowed me to buy a small piece of land and to commission this tree house. That, amongst a few other projects, kept me from falling into total despair.”
I marveled at the dining table and six chairs that looked like they’d been handmade from oak. “You didn’t build it yourself, did you?”
“We had a small team of local craftsmen working on the project, but the three of us would help out on Sundays.”
“Do you like it?” asked Leopold.
“It’s… It’s gorgeous.”
They exchanged fond smiles.
“I just wanted you to see another side of us. Two simple guys who like the outdoors and adore Willow Evergreen.”
Leopold gave me the warmest of smiles. “I’ll get the barbecue going.”
Sebastian cupped my cheeks with both hands. “Do you think we could try again?”
“How do I know this isn’t an elaborate game?” I whispered.
“When we met, I didn’t even know you went to Brittas Academy. The game doesn’t count unless the target is someone in proximity to the students. I was only ever interested in your curvaceous figure, sweet personality, and huge, hazel eyes.”
I ignored the pleasant warmth tingling through my insides at the compliment. “What about Geraldine and Bianca?”
“They’re just girls I’ve known since we were eleven. I only like brunettes, and Bianca’s a little too abrasive for my tastes.”
I glanced through the window, where Leopold set up an outdoor heater and tinkered with a barbecue. “If you’re interested in me, why’s…”
“Why is Leopold here?” Sebastian beckoned at his friend, who nodded and upended a bag of coal into the space under the barbecue’s grill.
I nodded.
“I’m not the only one interested in you.”
“What’s up?” Leopold strode through the door, bringing with him the fresh scent of the forest.
“I was about to explain our intentions to Willow,” said Sebastian.
He wiped his hands on the back of his jeans and straightened. For the first time since I had met Leopold, there was no trace of arrogance on his features.
Sebastian placed a hand on my shoulder. “We both find you irresistibly attractive, and both want to date you.”
CHAPTER FIFTEEN
My heart thudded. My chest heaved. All the moisture left my mouth and gathered between my folds. Sebastian and Leopold… together?
I stared from Sebastian’s verdant green eyes to Leopold’s aquamarine. My overactive imagination must have conjured this up. Which girl ever got to make out with two gorgeous guys at the same time? And gorgeous guys willing to respect their boundaries.
Leopold leaned forward, his chest rising and falling with excited breaths. “How about it, Wills?”
“B-back to calling me that?” I tried to keep the tremble out of my voice.
“It’s adorable.” He kissed the tip of my nose. “Just like you.”
A thrill of pleasure filled my heart. “I don’t understand how this would work. Would we sleep together at the same time?”
