I follow her out, buttoning my pants back up. “Where the hell are you going? What the fuck is happening?”
She whirls around pointing her finger in my face. “You. Asshole.”
I slap her hand away. “I’m the asshole? You drugged me, abducted me, tied me up, and then talked me into eating you out until you came and now you’re going to walk away from me? You’re the fucking asshole!”
“Wrong!” she seethes. “I might not be the most clever girl in the world when it comes to men, but there’s one guy—just one—I know pretty well. And that’s you. You were gonna do this to me. I could practically read your filthy fucking mind back there!”
“You bitch!” I say.
“I’m the bitch? So you meant all that bullshit? ‘Oh, Emma,’” she says, in a fake voice. “‘Forgiving you is nothing. Blah, blah, blah. But you will have to live with this for the rest of your life. Blah, blah, blah. How about a second chance?’” She sticks a finger in her mouth and pretends to gag. “Just how stupid do you think I am?”
“I can’t fucking believe you right now! You are such a fucking—”
“No,” she says. “I just did what you’ve been doing your whole life, asshole. How’s it feel to be lied to, huh? How’s it feel to believe those lies and then wake up and realize you’re a fool?”
“You’re the fucking fool!” I say. So pissed I’m seeing red.
“Really?” She laughs. “Which one of us got what they wanted and which one was left hanging this time?”
And then she turns, walks over to her car, gets in, and starts it up. She flips me the finger as she backs up, and then screeches her tires as she peels away.
“Fuck you!” I yell. “I’m totally pressing charges!”
But she sticks her hand out the driver’s side window and just flips me off again.
I stand there in shock as her brake lights disappear into the thick grove of trees. Then turn around, seething with anger.
And decide… I’m gonna steal her boat.
CHAPTER SEVENTEEN - EMMA
“I cannot believe you let him go!”
Mila is furious with me.
“Yeah, well. I think it was for the best. We shouldn’t have done it. I was cutting our losses.”
“You know he’s totally gonna press charges. What do I tell my kids when the cops show up to arrest Mommy?”
“First of all,” I say, “he’s not going to press charges.”
“How do you know?”
“Because men like Jesse don’t call the police when girls take advantage of them. And second of all, your kids don’t even call you Mommy, you make them call you Mila. So cut the crap.”
“Jesus. What’s up your ass?”
“I bought a billionaire last night and then I drugged him, abducted him, and tied him up in a basement. That’s what’s up my ass. And you’re welcome, by the way.”
“For what? Screwing up our whole revenge plan?”
“For shutting this down. And besides, we got our revenge. Trust me. I don’t think Jesse Boston will ever look at a one-night stand the same again.”
“It wasn’t enough. Drugging him? Half a night of tied-up submission?” She huffs. “That’s nothing compared to what we could’ve done.”
“It wasn’t just that.”
“What do you mean?”
