“Shakespeare again?” James asks by my side after a moment of silence.
I nod. “I think so.”
He snorts. “What a drama queen.” I laugh wetly, and his gaze snaps to mine. “Ewan... Are you crying again?”
“No?” I say unconvincingly.
He laughs and pulls me into a hug. “You silly, adorable man. Why?”
“I think I’m having a Shakespearean revelation.”
“Is that so? And what is this revelation, may I ask?”
I pull back just enough to see his face, and my eyes drop to his lips. When I meet his gaze again, he’s watching me attentively, but he doesn’t make a move. This needs to come from me. I lean towards him slowly, giving him time to pull away if he wants to. But when my lips touch his, his mouth is warm and welcoming. I kiss him tentatively, at first, but then he groans and grabs me by the back of my head and devours me.
Kissing James feels like missing a step, adrenaline rushing through my veins and needles prickling my skin. It feels like walking in a river during a warm summer day, and the current suddenly taking me away even though I was so sure I could cross easily. It reminds me of risks taken, not knowing what the outcome will be, but wanting to know, to see, to feel...
His hands have a hold of me and our kiss deepens, until his tongue touches mine, hot and demanding, and I welcome it. I moan, and he pushes me gently until my back hits the roof and he’s on top of me, caging me with his body. He’s much smaller than me, and yet it always feels like he’s towering over me, no matter what he does. Shirley called him a short king the other day when we talked about him just the two of us, and it fits him so well. He is a king, and all I want to do is swear my allegiance to his crown.
I gasp and moan as he licks and bites and kisses me. Why did I try to resist him? I can’t remember. It all seems so futile now that I have his lips on me. His hands are in my hair and on my body, roaming, lighting me on fire.
Then James moves closer still and undulates his lower body against mine, rubbing our erections through our clothes, and the last bastion of my sanity crumbles to the ground.

JAMES
Kissing Ewan is more intoxicating than the richest Scot whisky. He tastes like honey and caramel and liquid sunshine and happy mistakes.
When I woke up this morning, slightly hangover and warm in bed by his side, I was determined to respect his boundaries. If he didn’t want to risk getting burned, I’d let him put some distance between us. We’re here to do a job, and we make a good team, why complicate things because I can’t keep it in my pants?
But Ewan is kissing me, and in a matter of seconds, I can’t remember why it was a better idea to keep our hands off each other. Nothing will ever top this. Not when I feel him tremble under me and melt under my touch.
I can’t stop kissing him. We’re on a roof in the dead of night but my fear of heights seems to be entirely forgotten as I feel his body under mine, so large but entirely at my mercy.
I pull away long enough to say, “Fuck, I could eat you whole,” before pulling at the collar of his ExorSquad overall and tasting his skin. I can’t help it, I bite him gently, and his moans turn wilder, my name on his lips.
A drop of freezing rain hits my cheek, pulling me out of my lustful haze long enough to let me think.
I grab his face between my hands. “Ewan, as much as it pains me stop what we’re doing right now, it’s raining. It would be a shame to slip on wet slates now and join the ghosts who haunt this place. Let’s continue this in our room. What do you think?”
Ewan looks wrecked under me, his brown waves tousled and his lips thoroughly kissed. He nods jerkily, and I can’t help it, I slide my hand over his crotch and cup his erection, and he whimpers. “James...”
I kiss him one more time, his tongue hot against mine, then I regretfully pull away and stand up. I give him a hand and pull him along until we reach the small window on the side of the spire. I step off the roof first and land in the attic, then wait for him. As soon as his feet touch the dusty wood floors, I grab him by the throat to pull him into another kiss. He offers no resistance. Quite the contrary, he surrenders to my touch, and desire surges anew.
“Oh the things I’ll do to you,” I say by his ear.
He mewls deliciously, his forehead touching mine, our breaths mingling.
I grab him by the front of his overalls and pull him after me. “The room. Now.”
We make our way through the hallway, lust urging us on. Lucky for us, our room is on the last floor, too. I’m pretty sure we locked our door before going ghost hunting, but it swings open as we approach, as if the house itself is saying “Finally, you morons.” The light is on already.
The cats are nowhere to be found, as if they all decided to give us privacy for once.
As soon as we’re in, I capture his mouth again. His knees buckle and he leans against the closed door. Ewan is an incredible kisser, soft and welcoming, letting me lead this dance. Kissing is a good way to test compatibility in bed. Some people are dominant with their tongue, like I am. I like to nibble and bite and lick and suck. I love to devour the person who I'm with, and the best partner for this is someone like Ewan, who just lets me take it all with delight.
