He did, slowly at first, pulling out a bit before sliding back in, watching me the entire time, studying me like I was the only woman in the world.

“Mmm, yes,” I said.

“You feel so good,” he whispered into my hair.

Our bodies moved together naturally. Every touch, every kiss, felt so perfect, so richly satisfying that I could barely remember to breathe. I quickly lost myself to the sensations, to the way Aiden’s body pressed against mine, to the way his hands curled over my shoulders, giving him leverage to drive himself deeper. Tension coiled inside me again, fanning the flames of that delicious ache.

“Fuck,” I hissed as he slammed into me, his pace quickening as his thrusts turned desperate. “Fuck, fuck, fuck.”

His hips jerked out of time, and he groaned loudly before reaching between us to rub at my clit. It was enough to drive me over the edge for a second time, the orgasm overwhelming. Pleasure coursed in waves, leaving me breathless and trembling.

I didn’t think my legs would ever stop shaking.

I could feel Aiden’s heart racing as he cradled me in the aftermath, our bodies entwined, nothing but our breathing to fill the silence. Contentment and exhaustion washed over me in equal measure. I’d never felt safer, and I wanted to savor the closeness—the steady rise and fall of his chest against me—for however long it lasted.

“As good as you remembered?” Aiden asked, his gaze soft, perhaps filled with the same emotions I was feeling. The ones that made my heart swell.

I chuckled, pressing a kiss to the middle of his chest. It was so much better, but I couldn’t stop myself from teasing him. “I feel like you had more stamina in high school.”

He rolled me over so quickly I yelped. “Take that back. My performance has done nothing but improve.”

“To be determined. I need more data.”

“If that’s your subtle way of asking for a round two,” Aiden said, wiggling his eyebrows at me, “then hell yes.”

AIDEN

“Stay the night,” I whispered, wanting to preserve this moment, the one with Cora wrapped up in my arms, for as long as possible. I couldn’t believe how right this felt, how easy it was. Maybe I was too hopped up on good sex hormones to think straight, but being here with Cora felt like coming home to find something I’d been missing without realizing it.

Her fingertips ghosted across my forehead. “I can’t.”

“You can.”

“And have my mother blowing up my phone when I don’t turn up?”

I laughed in the darkness of the room, the sound crowding us, and I pulled her closer. “I doubt Bonnie’s going to come hunting us down. We’re not teenagers anymore. She won’t care if we have sex.”

“You’re right. But she probably expected me home an hour ago, and I don’t want to worry her. She’ll do something crazy like activate the phone tree.”

“Oh God,” I said, running my hand down my face. “I forgot about the stupid phone tree.”

“The last thing I need is for someone at the reunion to tell her about Levi. Or worse, this,” she said, gesturing between us, “before I can.”

“I don’t think anyone knows we ditched the reunion to go have sex.”

“The way you drove out of that parking lot?” Cora teased. “Anyone who saw you would have known there was only one thing on your mind.”

“You could always text her.”

“I could,” Cora said softly, pressing her lips to the bridge of my nose. “But we’re leaving in the morning, and I’ve barely had a chance to talk to her. I really do want to stay,” she continued. “Only tonight’s kind of my last chance to spend time with her and figure out what she’s hiding from me.”

“Still considering your alien abduction theory?” I joked.

“Until proven otherwise, yes.”

Despite going along with my teasing, I knew Cora was worried about her mother, and I didn’t want her to stress. I pressed a kiss to her forehead. “Find your clothes. I’ll drive you home. Just like I did after our first first time.”
