Nervous because he was a stranger yet… not nervous. Because there was something familiar about the way he moved. About his forearms. I took a deep breath and blinked at the slightly familiar scent of cologne and something else.
Something unique to only one person I’d met.
He reached me, standing in front of me as I tilted my head back and further back to stare up at him. Rough fingertips gripped my chin to keep my eyes on him.
A silent request I was more than happy to give into.
God what was wrong with me? One mask and I was a puddle of goo, ready to kick my panties to the side for the stranger. Goosebumps of excitement and nerves flared to life from head to toe as I stared at him.
He bent closer, close enough to press our foreheads together. With the new nearness, I could hear the rough panting of his breathing. A smack of lips almost like he’d blown me a kiss sounded over the roaring of blood rushing in my ears before he turned around and stalked towards the cameras.
The tall stranger knelt in front of them and eerily tilted his head one way and then the other before a very deep, very familiar voice spoke, breaking the heart-thundering silence.
“Sorry, kids, Daddy’s home,” he said, and just like that, the room turned pitch black.
My hands shook at my sides, gripping the hem of the short pink-and-black tartan plaid skirt.
Not with fear or anxiousness but with excitement.
He came. Daddy came!
The man in the mask turned, tilting his head one way then another, almost like he was trying to figure out where I was mentally. The weird almost manic smile on the mask made me want to smile up at him.
“Daddy?” I whispered into the darkness. He nodded, confirming what I knew. “Daddy… Victor?” I asked, and his form seemed to still before standing straighter.
Prouder.
His hands slowly ripped the mask off, and there he was.
Dark eyes, beautiful, tanned skin all exposed so I could soak in just how handsome he was.
“How did you know?” he asked, still keeping his distance and, more importantly, his hands to himself. I chewed on my bottom lip.
“Your voice sounded familiar when we first spoke down by the mailboxes, but in the costume shop, when you growled in my ear…” My voice was remarkably steady as I squirmed, kneeling on the mattress. “I knew.”
“And you still hung out with me? Still let me walk you home with your groceries? Work out with you?” The longer strands of his hair flopped forward, casting his features with deep darker shadows.
I shrugged, trying to act like I my body didn’t feel like it was suddenly on pins and needles and about to implode as I waited to see what he’d do. What we’d do the moment we were within one another’s reach.
“Twisted? I know,” I joked half-heartedly. Excitement overloaded my senses as wet warmth pooled between my legs.
“You’re not twisted.” His growly words made me giggle.
“If I were right in the head, Victor, there is no way I would be as happy and as wet as I am right now, waiting for you to come closer so I can finally kiss Daddy,” I admitted completely honestly.
“Lucy.” The warning in his voice was crystal clear.
“I’m serious.”
“I know you are, Sunshine.” His hands at his sides fisted tightly. “If I get close to you, if I touch you again, even if it’s something as innocent as holding your hand, that’s it for us, baby. There won’t be any going back. No returns or refunds or fucking exchanges. You’re it for me, and I’m it for you.” Geez, why did I love everything he was saying? Saliva pooled in my mouth to taste him. To kiss him. “Do you understand what I’m saying?”
“You barely know me,” I whispered in a weak argument. Even in the darkness I could see the look in his eyes. The one that shouted really? Because we both knew he definitely knew me.
We had been getting to know one another these last two months. I think it was why meeting him had felt like two pieces of a puzzle coming together and I’d felt so at home with him, so right.
“Tell me to stay away,” he pleaded roughly.
“I can’t.”
