Her leather jacket and black skinny jeans led to biker boots, and if she was anything like Bebe she was loaded up to the eyeballs with weapons.
“And who do we have here?”
“I’m Prince Alwyn, third in line to the throne of Soflye.”
“Hmm.” Roz looked behind her at Kanan and then toward him. “Do you allow treasonous bastards on the throne here?”
“How dare you.”
Her hand shot out and she grabbed Alwyn by the throat and squeezed. “Oh, I dare. Bebe is one of mine, and because of you she’s in trouble, and I don’t take that lightly. So here’s what’s going to happen. You’re going to tell me what you know and leave nothing out or I’m going to cut off your tiny pathetic cock and feed it to you until you choke.”
Leo and every man in the room winced at her threat. He had little doubt she’d indeed follow through on her threat.
“I already told Leo what I know.”
Roz pushed Alwyn into a chair and reached into her pocket for a wickedly sharp looking blade. Evelyn pulled Leo to the window and his father looked to Alwyn before following them a little way off.
“Let her do her thing. She needs to get this out of her system. She’s pissed she had to leave her kids at home and fly here so it’s best she takes it out on him rather than us.”
Leo palmed the back of his neck and sighed, the effects of the drugs still making him a little nauseous.
“I’m King Alfred. I’m sorry about this business.”
Leo lifted his head to see his father introducing himself to the other three. “Sorry.”
“It’s fine, my boy. I haven’t had this kind of excitement in years.” His father frowned. “I just wish it didn’t involve my family on the wrong side of things and that lovely girl of yours getting taken.”
A scream of pain had them all looking to where Roz had Alwyn in a compromising position where if she slipped it would mean no more fun for Uncle Alwyn.
“You’ve got company.”
Alex motioned for the window and Leo saw Albin Wojcik pulling up outside the palace gates.
Tensing Leo clenched his fists at the sight of the man. He wanted nothing more than to rip his face off with his bare hands. “I expect he wants Alwyn.”
“Want us to go and offer him an escort off a cliff somewhere?” Alex asked, his hands in his pockets looking relaxed and calm, but Leo could read people, and these were all top-notch, tier-one operators.
Like recognised like.
Leo shook his head. “No, we need him. He might know where Bebe was taken.”
Roz joined them at the window, wiping the blood from her knife on her jeans before tucking it away. God, this woman had kids and she was utterly terrifying.
“Your uncle doesn’t know where she is, but he did say that you have a member of staff called Hans who’d planted the bugs in your rooms.”
Leo glanced at his uncle who was sitting with his head between his knees as if he might pass out. Again he’d lied, keeping relevant information from them. Alwyn would never learn, and Leo would never trust him again.
“God damn it.” He punched the wall by his head, feeling the sting of flesh hitting stone as he took out his frustration at the situation.
“One of yours?” Alex asked his hand on Evelyn’s shoulder.
“My butler. I’ll have someone pick him up and put him with Chelsea.”
Wojcik was making his way on foot down the drive, laughing with the security teams as if he didn’t have a care in the world.
Leo gave the newcomers an abridged version of the last fourteen hours. “So now you know as much as I do.”
Roz glanced at his uncle who was too busy feeling sorry for himself to even listen. “More actually. We found out that Atticus is Alwyn’s son. Alwyn never acknowledged him. When he found out he went to your uncle, and he turned him away. Seems Uncle Alwyn has been shaking it about all over the Kingdom.”
