When Amelie entered the kitchen, she couldn’t help but feel a wave of disappointment wash over her as she took note of the untouched plate still sitting on the counter, spell undisturbed.

However, determined not to allow Delia’s indifference to taint her morning, Amelie instead scooped the remaining stew back into her enchanted pot and began munching on the bread as she got to work on breakfast.

Amelie truly did love cooking; it calmed her as her magic hummed through her veins in an almost meditative state. Though she primarily used her abilities to multitask and enchant tools that she could use, such as her perpetual stew pot. Her brother was much better at using his kitchen witch magic to alter the food itself, helping withpastries that increased confidence, created temporary auras, and that sort of thing. Amelie knew the culinary associations that most magical plants carried and could use them accordingly; however, her brother was much more talented at bringing out the natural properties of each ingredient, coaxing them to do more.

So instead of focusing on which spells she could use to potentially increase the magical flow of each individual witch, Amelie prepared breakfast in the best way she knew how. Instead of creating magical products, Amelie focused on creating a magical atmosphere, one where every move she made was full of intention, magical aura practically dripping from her fingers. As she moved, she created a symphony of sounds, smells, and tastes in the kitchen that perfectly embodied home for her.

As she moved around the space, every move perfectly flowed into the next, like a dance. As the coffee and tea brewed, Amelie mixed the batter for the scones; as the scones baked, Amelie spun around to the open-flame stove to make eggs; then, once the scones came out, she iced them like her brother had taught her back at the bakery.

“Amelie! This smells incredible!”

Just as Amelie finished plating the pieces of the meal, Hestia’s voice rang out from the entrance to the kitchen. Like her aura, her voice was warm and inviting; today she wore a dark skirt with a sort of wrap top that, quite honestly, probably could have been a scarf in a previous life, but like her outfit from the day before, Hestia pulled it off.

As she padded into the kitchen, Amelie noted that once again, the Illusion Witch wasn’t wearing any shoes.

“I am so glad you think so!” Amelie grinned from ear to ear, automatically reaching for the tea before pausing and turning her attention back to Hestia. “Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t even ask. Tea or coffee?”

Hestia’s grin was contagious as she practically skipped over to the counter and sat down. “Tea, please. I’ve never been a huge fan of coffee.”

Amelie hummed at the instinct as she picked up the teapot once again, pouring Hestia a cup. “It’s apple and cinnamon. I don’t know why exactly I chose this mixture this morning, but I figured that the connection apples have to the divine feminine would never be a poor choice in this house.”

Hestia laughed, picked up her cup, and inhaled deeply, taking in the scent. “It’s perfect. I use a lot of cinnamon in my spellwork, so this is actually the perfect tea for me this morning.”

Amelie smiled as Hestia dove in, eyes practically rolling into the back of her head as she took a bite of the scone.

“What a face.” Regina hummed as she entered the kitchen, watching Hestia with amusement.

“Oh god. Regina.” Hestia turned, her mouth full of pastry. “You have to try these scones. They’re to die for.”

Regina, wearing a similar black dress to the day before, made her way over to the kitchen counter, her heels clacking on the tile floor.

“I bet.” Regina grinned, flashing a wink at Amelie before placing a hand on Hestia’s head and tilting it over so she could kiss the other witch’s hair.

Amelie’s brows went up at the obvious sign of affection, but Hestia seemed wholly unbothered, as she licked her fingers, getting every last trace of icing. Though, as Amelie watched, she noticed something that she hadn’t noticed yesterday upon meeting the redhead, and immediately felt her face go flush.

The nails on Hestia’s right middle and ring fingers were considerably shorter than the rest, and not in a way that made it seem like they’d broken, but rather that they’d been manicured that way. The ends were rounded into an almond shape just like the rest of them and painted black, just shorter.

Eyes widening, Amelie almost missed Regina coming around the corner as she said something that the blonde didn’t quite catch.

“Sorry, what was that?” Amelie’s gaze snapped up to Regina, immediately flustered at how close she’d gotten. But just as she had the night before, despite Hestia’s presence, Regina didn’t seem to mind their closeness at all; it even seemed as though she was instigating it on purpose.

“I asked if you’d eaten yet.” The smirk on Regina’s face only confirmed what Amelie had been thinking moments before. She was doing this on purpose.

“I- uh…” Amelie stuttered, looking back and forth between Hestia and Regina as she struggled to find the words.

“I told you, you were being too forward, Reg.” Hestia smiled, resting her cheek on her hand. “I think you broke her.”

Amelie’s eyes widened again at the statement from the Illusion Witch as she looked back to Regina, searching for any sort of embarrassment or denial of Hestia’s statement. However, as she looked deeper into the other woman’s blank eyes, the only thing she saw was curiosity.

It was at that moment that all the things Amelie had seen this morning fell into place. The kiss, the nails, the ease with which the pair moved around each other…

“Are you two… together?” Amelie flitted her pointer finger between the two witches as the full picture started forming.

Hestia brought her teacup to her lips and took another sip of her apple,-cinnamon tea before wrapping her hands around the warm ceramic and tilting her head at Amelie with a smile.

“You could say that, yes.”

Amelie blinked several times in confusion as she processed Hestia’s answer, then how close Regina was, Hestia’s earlier statement to Regina, and then how unbothered the redhead looked as she sipped her tea.
