“I’ll go find Phen and see you guys later,” Carter said, jumping off Jeff’s truck. “I’m not sure I wanna witness you two being all in love.” Our glance landed on each other, and our eyes did the talking, exposing every ache stashed in our hearts.
It doesn’t have to be that way, mine said. I hate when we’re weird around each other.
I’ll be fine, Carter’s replied. One day. Gimme more time.
Don’t lose faith in us. I love you.
I know…Dah. I love you too.
I’m sorry. Please don’t push me out. Don’t push us out.
His didn’t say anything further.
Carter bowed his head, waving at me—at us—as he strolled away.
Jeff moved to the backseat next to me and circled my wrist as I leaned back and shut my eyes, tears ready to flow out. “Princess, what just happened?”
I shrugged and sniffled. “I’m trying to make things right with your bother.”
“Is it working?”
“I don’t know.” I sighed and blinked to keep my tears at bay. “Can we just enjoy each other for tonight? I’ll deal with him tomorrow. You’ll be gone by the morning, and I really want you to keep up the promise you made last night,” I said, the corner of my lips curving into a small smile.
“You do?” Jeff’s eyes lit up, and it soothed everything inside me. My happiness returned.
“That’s all I’ve been dreaming about last night, and the only thing that’s been on my mind all day.”
“Then scoot over, we need to make ourselves comfortable.”
Jeff’s mouth claimed mine as I shifted on the seat. His fingers entangled in my hair, and one hand curled around my waist, anchoring me.
A yelp escaped my lips when his tongue dived further into my mouth.
“You sure you’re ready for me to touch you?”
I nodded.
My heart banged against my ribs.
I panted as if I’d just run a marathon.
Jitters bounced around in my body, igniting my inner thighs.
Jeff tightened his grip around my waist, and I melted in his embrace.
“Please,” I begged, thoughts racing in my head, wondering what he’d do to me. I gasped as he cupped one breast, now eager to feel his hands under my clothes.
Jeff kissed my throat and collarbones. His head traveled lower, his tongue teasing the strip of my skin peeking out between the hem of my shirt and the top of my jeans. My body stiffened, then relaxed as his tongue drew circles on my flesh.
I knitted my fingers in his hair, not sure what I should do with my own hands.
My boyfriend pushed my shirt up, exposing my midsection.
His eyes sparkled as he raised them to watch me.
“Do you wanna stop?”
I shook my head, biting on my lower lip, silencing the cries threatening to come out of my mouth. My cheeks felt a thousand degrees warmer. Jeff’s fingers traced a line along the seam of my pants between my legs, and my vision blurred. Sensations I never knew existed filled me.
