I laughed gently.
“Actually, a friend of mine has a show at a dinner club in Toledo on Friday. Lounge? Heard of it?”
Lucas indicated that he had. “You make new friends quickly.”
“She’s an old friend of the family,” I replied with a wink.
“Then she’s an old friend of mine.”
“Maybe we could go see her perform?” I suggested. “Then…a moonlit stroll along the Maumee? Maybe walk the birding trail out by Cullen Park?”
“All alone with you in the dark under the moon?” He grinned.
I nodded.
“Sounds more romantic than dinner and a movie.”
“A lot more romantic.”
“Then it’s a date, babe.” He kissed me.
