She stretched languidly, like a cat, and had his blood pressure spiking as the sweater hiked up further. "Shall we?"

"Yeah," he muttered. "Let's go face the music, shall we?"

She laughed. Unbuckling her belt, she shoved open the door before he could come around and do it for her.

"It might not be so bad. He might have spent the week becoming a whole different person."

His snort made her grin.

"One can only hope. A little help here."

He was juggling their case and some of the bags.

"I figured you for a big strong man who doesn't need my help."

"You figured wrong, and you're forgetting that you bought out the damn store."

A low chuckle greeted his words and had him grinning, which faded when she leaned in to grab the bags. The material of the denim molded her shapely butt and made him want to taste and devour.

Sucking in a breath, he turned towards the steps, just as Millicent opened the doors.

"You're back! No, please leave them here. I'll get a couple of the maids to take them up to your rooms. I put a tray of refreshments there for you, and I sorted out the closet," she added, looking at Regina with a cautious smile.

Regina considered that the housekeeper had halfway accepted her.

"Thanks, Millicent." She sent the woman an easy smile.

"I can take these up myself." She hefted the bags she had in her hands.

"Where is he?"

"Chomping at the bit and pretending not to be looking forward to your return. He's lying down. Had too much going on today."

She hesitated briefly before looking over at Regina. "He had some people come in to change up the closet to accommodate your stuff."

Her tapered brows lifted at that.

"Then I guess I should thank him," she murmured.

"Why don't you go on up?" Craig suggested.

"I'll be in his room."

"Shouldn't I be there as referee?" she asked archly.

Touching her cheek gently, he nudged her towards the stairs.

"Smartass. Go. We'll be fine."

Millicent had to turn away to hide the moisture in her eyes. The boy had chosen well, she thought.

And he was in love. Thank God!

As soon as she stepped into the room, she noticed the changes. The closet was huge, and the space had not been properly utilized.

Now it was. Shelves and revolving hangers met her eyes, along with a space for her numerous shoes and a vanity table complete with a handsome carved chair so that she could sit right there and do her makeup.

Her eyes widened as she stepped into the vast space and saw that there was also a tiny fridge.
