“About allowing yourself to live.”

“Well, yeah.” Indy frowned. “I’d much rather be living my best life having sex right now, but you’re being broody and weird and I’m not going to just sit here and pout about it. Life will go on, my asshole will remain unpounded, and drag queens and Chinese food are a promising replacement. Why?”

Mr. Heiss cupped Indy’s chin. “I was wrong about you.”

“Obviously.” Indy paused. “Okay, but which part?”

“I once called you a coward,” Mr. Heiss replied carefully. “I was mistaken. You’re very brave. You didn’t hesitate to go to your grandmother’s aid the moment you thought she was in danger. Every step of the way and even up against impossible odds, you’ve fought to ensure your survival where others would have crumbled. You have so much passion, such heart, and you are really quite extraordinary.”

Indy’s heart leapt into his throat, and he struggled to swallow it back down so he could speak. “Thank you—”

“And yes, you are often quite stupid, but your courage is still admirable.”

Indy stared. “You could have stopped right there, but you had to keep going, didn’t you?”

“Yes, because it is important to note you are not perfect. Neither am I.” Mr. Heiss shook his head. “You were also correct that I take my immortality for granted. It is difficult for me to understand your wants and needs in that way.”

“Wow.” Indy grinned, lighting back up as he teased, “Is that an apology? Almost? Maybe? Consider yourself forgiven if that means we can get back on track to having a good time. Because yes, adrenaline, blah blah blah, whatever, let’s go.”

Mr. Heiss rolled his eyes. “All of that being said, I am not going to fuck you if you are truly not feeling well. I might be the king of assholes, but even I have my limits.”

“Okay, well.” Indy bit his lower lip. “What if… we just went slow?”

“Slow?”

“Yes, it is the opposite of fast. It might not be a concept you’re familiar with—fuck!” Indy was suddenly on his back with Mr. Heiss right on top of him between Indy’s now spread legs. He put his hands on Mr. Heiss’s chest and took a deep breath. “Is that a yes?”

“Yes.” Mr. Heiss smiled, warm and strangely sweet, and he pressed a soft kiss to Indy’s lips.

Indy melted down into the bed, and he wrapped his arms around Mr. Heiss’s neck. He sighed softly, and it was a sound of both pleasure and relief. He’d been able to charm his way out of talking about Mr. Kalt and his illness, resulting in a surprisingly pleasant conversation, but he had no idea if he’d be able to do it again.

Yes, Indy was very sexy, but Mr. Heiss was also very stubborn.

Indy found himself considering telling Mr. Heiss the truth he was so desperately trying to hide, but that terrified little part of his brain refused to hear it. This was the best thing he could do. He had to keep up the show, play his part, and so what if his heart ached as he replayed every lie over and over again in his head?

Shit.

Mr. Heiss was on the move, crawling down Indy’s body and kissing him through his clothing. Anything he touched vanished and soon Indy was left in nothing but his shoes. Those went away next with a flick of Mr. Heiss’s hand, and now Indy was fully naked and spread out beneath him.

Indy closed his eyes for a long moment to simply feel the press of Mr. Heiss’s lips against his skin, soft and gentle, so unlike what they’d shared before. He actually liked this, and the teasing touches had him hard and throbbing.

Mr. Heiss paused his descent once he was between Indy’s thighs, and he spread them. “Relax for me, Sonnenschein.”

“Yes, sir.” Indy shivered.

He didn’t understand how such a simple nickname got him so hot, but he was happy to go with it. He liked it. He liked everything Mr. Heiss did—well, in the bedroom anyway—and he wanted more.

So much more.

Mr. Heiss grunted. “Not sir.”

“What?”

“Not right now.” The first press of Mr. Heiss’s tongue was tentative, sweet, but it didn’t take long for the pressure to increase. The forked tip slid all around Indy’s asshole before dipping inside, a quick tease designed to send shivers all throughout Indy’s body.

“What, what do you want me to call you then?” Indy asked, panting.

“You may call me Raph,” Mr. Heiss replied. “But only here. Only now. Do you understand?”
