She shifts, still glaring at me.
“I mean it. Just put it on my ankle.”
I crouch down before her, looking up, meeting her gaze. I can see the fire in it, one that’s teetering between being turned on and being pissed off. I need to tip it to the former.
“Here’s the thing, baby,” I whisper. “As sexy as your ankles are, that’s not where this belongs. And just like I was only going to walk down the aisle with one person and one person only, there’s only one woman I intend to put a garter on. And I have every intention of doing it properly.”
With a wink of my own, I lift the skirt of her bridesmaid’s dress and dive in head first. The Mission: Impossible theme plays in the background as I kiss my way up her leg, dragging the garter behind said kiss. I feel Willa tremble, wondering if the rest of the wedding guests can see it, or if it’s something only I know. Our little secret.
I nip at her thigh, her legs quickly squeezing my head. Fuck, do I want to stay like this longer. Only without so many clothes. That will come later though.
Snapping the garter into place, I wiggle my way out, immediately looking up at her. Willa’s face is bright pink, her eyes wide and filled with desire.
Mission accomplished.
“Just wait ’til I take it off later.”

WILLA
“What’s that?”
Nash’s voice stops me dead in my tracks. There are only a few people left under the tent, since most everyone left shortly after Dustin and Kenzie made their exit, the catering crew chomping at the bit to clean up. Can’t blame them—I’m sure this has been a long day for them as well, and they don’t get to go home until the job is done.
Spinning around, I let my mischievous smile take over, waggling my eyebrows as I saunter toward him. My steps are long and exaggerated, as is the sway in my hips, purposefully trying too hard to be sexy.
“This?”
Holding up the green glass bottle, my fingers wrapped around the long neck, I give it a little shake, careful not to spill any of the sweet, bubbly liquid inside.
“Yes, that,” he counters, closing the rest of the distance between us.
I hold back my giggle, looking up at him, wanting to kiss him so bad I can feel it in my toes. Instead, I give him a little shimmy, which causes me to almost lose my balance.
I was a pageant queen, I promise…
“If I didn’t know better, I’d say you had too much.”
“Maybe I have…”
He takes the bottle from me, eyeing me suspiciously, sniffs it, then takes a swig. “Sparkling cider…shoulda known. This isn’t actual drunk Willa.”
“Milo peeled the label off for me, so no one would know.”
“How generous of him.”
It was, actually. Of all the things I didn’t have on my bingo card, older brother number two playing co-conspirator might be the most surprising. Actually, maybe that comes in second. To the spot right next to it—getting knocked up.
“And what do you mean this isn’t actual drunk Willa?”
Nash shakes his head. “I told you, I know you. Which means I know you drunk. And drunk you does not sashay across the room with an open bottle in her hand like she’s still underage and at a frat party. Instead, she stands there, one hand on her hip, glaring at me, before she finally breaks down and tells me she doesn't know if she wants to scream at me or make me scream her name.”
“I have never said that!” I hiss. I don’t think. Although, it does kind of sound like something I would think. So, it’s entirely possible that drunk me has said that.
“Oh, you have. More than once.”
Whooops…
