“There is; that’s why I told you to bring those workout clothes. We need you to even out the male/female ratio,” Cowboy answered, nipping at her ear. Theo gasped, her hips moving again, this time making contact with his dick. Cowboy let out a groan, wanting her to do it again. “But I figured I needed to help get you warmed up first.”

“And just how do you plan on doing that?”

“Like this.”

Pinning her even harder against the door, Cowboy’s mouth crashed into her, kissing her long and hard. Their tongues found each other immediately, tangoing together like they had been on a mission to find one another. Cowboy’s mind reeled, soaking in the sweet taste of her, the softness of her lips, and the adorable cooing sounds that still managed to escape. There really was nothing on earth like kissing this woman.

And he never wanted to stop.

Chapter Fourteen

“Where are we going?” Theo asked, nervous energy rippling through her body.

“You’ll see,” Cowboy answered.

There was a look of mischief in his eye. Her heart skipped a beat, his hand encompassing hers warm and inviting as they walked through the lobby of the hotel in Miami. She looked around her, making sure that none of the players were around to see them, a thrill rushing through her.

If Theo hadn’t known any better, she would have thought she was fifteen all over again. Boy crazy, mind consumed with thoughts of stolen kisses and secret glances.

But this wasn’t about a boy. Oh no. Cowboy was all man.

Still, stolen kisses and secret glances were the only thing she could seem to think about these last few days. His kisses and glances to be exact—and how she wanted so many more of them.

The man was like a drug. It was the only explanation she had for why three days later she was still thinking about that kiss. Three days filled with work, travel, and a nail-biting win against Miami, where she should have been fully focused on the team and her story. Instead, her mind was on the sexy as sin man standing next to her, and the feel of his body against hers as they made out in his office. He’d kissed her like his life depended on it, leaving her more than a little worked up when they finally broke apart and made it out to the practice pitch for the scrimmage. Thankfully no one had noticed her swollen lips or flushed skin. Or, at least if they had, no one said anything.

Cowboy turned down a small hallway off the lobby, pushing through a foggy glass door. Humid air surrounded them, as they stepped into the dimly lit room.

“The hotel pool?”

“I thought we could go for a little swim,” he said, wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her into him. Theo's heart sped up, his scent filling her nostrils and sending her memory into overdrive.

“It closes at nine. It’s almost ten,” she pointed out.

“Then we’ll have the place all to ourselves.”

“But…I…I don’t have my suit!”

“Maybe not your swimsuit,” he countered, taking a step back. Cowboy waggled his eyebrows, reaching over his head, grabbing ahold of the back of his shirt and tugging it off in one swift motion. “But there’s another suit that will do just fine.”

Theo’s eyes immediately fell to his chest. She knew many of the tattoos well, since she’d spent long hours staring at them, his picture gracing her dorm room wall in college. There was some new ink she hadn’t seen, but that was not what was holding her attention. Both of his nipples were pierced, making Theo want nothing more in this moment than to touch them.

Holy fuck…where did that thought come from?

Cowboy looked down at his chest, then back up at her. “Like what you see?”

“I…uh…” she stumbled, unable to find the words. Her heart continued to race, her mouth going dry as she drank him in.

Cowboy winked at her, flicking open the button on his jeans, letting them drop to the ground. Slowly stepping out of them, he threw them on a chaise lounge. He was sex walking, and just looking at him in his charcoal boxer briefs was turning her brain to mush.

“Your turn, darlin’.”

“We can’t go skinny-dipping! We’ll get in trouble!”

“Theo, has anyone ever told you that you’re too uptight for your own good?” he asked, pulling her in again. His hands rested on her hips, holding on to her as if she belonged to him. Her whole body ached with that thought, that desire. Of wanting to belong to him.

“You would not be the first person to accuse me of such a thing.”

“Then I think it’s high time to live a little.”
