CHAPTER THIRTEEN

Of all the things Dash could have guessed that Talia was going to say, that was not it.

I’m a virgin.

Her words hit him like a ton of bricks, stopping him in his tracks. Did she really just say…no, no. No way. He was hearing things. Had to be.

Walking back over to the couch, he gently placed Talia down, before crashing onto it. He shifted, trying to find a position that was comfortable given the hard-on he was sporting thanks to their make-out session. Though that was the least of his worries in this moment. His head was spinning trying to make sense of it all. He couldn’t. There had to be something she wasn’t telling him.

“You are a…”

“Virgin,” she said, finishing his thought.

“So you have never…” he trailed off again, unsure why he was suddenly unable to finish a sentence.

“Had sex. Correct.”

Dash looked over at Talia, her face stoic, like she was trying to hide her emotions. But her eyes told him everything. Those beautiful, deep hazel irises let him see exactly what she was feeling. All her vulnerability was right there, hovering at the surface. So was her pride though. It was clear that no part of her was ashamed that her V-card hadn’t been stamped. That her concern lay in his reaction to such a fact.

“Can I ask why? Are you saving yourself?”

“No, I’m not saving myself or anything like that. I’ve just never wanted to.”

“But do you not get…what is the word in English?”

“Horny?”

“Sí.”

“Of course I do. I said I was a virgin, not dead inside,” she laughed. “I have a vibrator, and I’ve looked at dirty stuff on the Internet. I’m not weirdly sheltered or anything. I’m human—I have itches that need to be scratched, so to speak. I’ve just always taken care of them by myself.”

The smile she gave him melted his insides. Only Talia could make him feel such a way even as she was discussing her not having sex. Although the images that were now floating around in his brain of her playing with herself were making him hard all over again.

Talia laughed again, the sound going straight to his dick. Fuck, if she didn’t stop that, he was going to have an issue. He couldn’t help it though; the sound was addicting. Almost as much as her smile. He didn’t want her to think he was only in this for the sex though. He was here because of her. It just so happened his dick also really liked her.

“What do you mean you’ve never wanted to? Oh, mierda…did you not want to…” he gestured with his hand in her general direction, trying to politely indicate what they had just done. More questions rose in his mind, his heart racing as he ran it all back through his brain. She’d been into it, yes? He was pretty sure he hadn’t misread her. Then again, he also hadn’t realized that there was the potential of that being her first experience either.

Mierda…

“Yes, I wanted to. Very, Very much.”

Letting out a sigh, he relaxed into the couch. Relief washed over him. He was glad to know she had enjoyed it, because he had too. The feel of her body, the sound of her cries, the look on her face as she’d come apart. It was all so beautiful. He’d enjoyed making her feel good and wanted to do it over and over again. Wanted her to know just how much he cared about her, and how he thought she was the most amazing woman he’d ever met.

One who he apparently still needed to figure out.

“I am sorry. I feel like I am interrogating you. That is not my intent. I just want to know you, to understand.”

Reaching over, her took her hand, giving it a squeeze. She squeezed his in return, her eyes brightening. She didn’t owe him an explanation; he knew that. It was her choice. One that he respected, even if he didn’t fully understand it. She needed to know that. Needed to know that he wasn’t judging her.

“I think you have the right to interrogate me a bit. I did kinda drop a bomb in the middle of us getting hot and heavy.”

“You do not have to tell me anything you do not want.”

“That’s just it, Dash,” she answered, pushing herself up and snuggling into the corner of the couch. “I do want to tell you. You make me want all kinds of things I never have before.”

Dash’s insides lit up like a Christmas tree. A weird sense of pride filled him, knowing he’d been able to accomplish something no one else had.

“It’s hard to explain. And before you ask or even think it—no, it has nothing to do with a fear of getting pregnant. I mean, I don’t want to get pregnant, at least not now. That’s a someday thing. But this doesn’t have anything to do with my mom and her hookup with Gunnar or anything like that,” she continued, gesturing wildly. Dash bit back a laugh, not wanting her to think he was laughing at her reason. She was too cute for words, hands flying through the air, all animated in her insistence. “I didn’t really date anyone in high school. Had lots of guy friends, but no one I was ever interested in as more than a friend. I got to college, and again, there were things more interesting than dating. Beginning of sophomore year I met this guy in one of my classes and we started going out. By that point I was thinking I should probably just get it over with, and I was going to sleep with him, but then Mom had her stroke.”
