I need that too…

“So what are you waiting for?” she teased, moving her hips to try and give them what they both wanted.

“Well, love, I ran out here after you in just my briefs, so we’re missing a key piece of equipment.”

Avery furrowed her brow. What in the hell was he talking about? What equipment, other than his dick and her pussy, could they possibly need?

“Condom,” he said, kissing her nose.

“We don’t need that,” she told him, swallowing hard. He stared back at her, eyes wide, mouth gaped open. All the power and confidence she had felt earlier started to trickle away.

No, stop that. You didn’t find your sexy to lose it now. You meant what you said. Own it!

“I’m on the pill. So we don’t—”

Liam cut her off with a kiss, his hands on her bare ass gripping tighter. Her center rubbed against him, sending waves of lust through her as his lips devoured hers. She whimpered into their kiss, all sorts of emotions running through her. Liam made her feel things she had never felt before, and while her brain was still having a hard time processing it all, her body was busy taking charge.

“You’re sure?”

“I’ve never been more sure of anything,” she whispered in return. And she meant it. She was sure. Sure about this and about him.

Liam shifted her slightly in his arms, pulling her back just enough to line up his dick to her center. He moved her up and down, coating his shaft in her wetness, making sure to hit her clit with each stroke, the movements sending shock waves through her. She cried out each time, her sensitive little nub desperate for more attention. He was driving her absolutely wild, placing kisses on her neck, and he needed to pick up the pace. She tilted her hips, trying to coax him to where she wanted him, and he let out a low laugh.

“Anxious there, love?”

“I want you, Liam, please,” she begged.

“Please what?”

“Make love to me.”

The words escaped before she even registered what she was saying. “Make love to me” was not what she had meant. She had meant to say something a lot more…carnal. A lot less sweet. But those four words were what had appeared instead.

Liam didn’t seem to miss a beat though. The look on his face softened, his eyes shifting from pure hunger to…to something she couldn’t name. He pulled her in for a kiss and instead of it being frenzied like it had just a moment ago, it was tender and loving. Slowly, he dropped down to his knees, still holding on to her, before gently laying her down on the cool ground. The grass felt sharp and rough against her back, causing her to shift awkwardly.

Wordlessly, Liam reached for the discarded jersey that was only a few feet away from them and laid it out on the grass. He scooped her up again, laying her down on the soft material, protecting her skin. She reached for him, pulling him close and wrapping her legs around him. He took the hint, lining himself up with her entrance, slipping into her in one long stroke. The feel of him inside her took her breath away, as he started to move gracefully, finding a slow rhythm.

Everything inside Avery seemed like it was on fire, her senses working in overdrive to make sure she felt every little detail. She shifted her hips, meeting him thrust for thrust, wanting to feel him deeper inside her. She wanted to feel everything. Her pulse was racing as she lost herself in the moment, trying to figure out exactly what it was that her heart was telling her.

Just as she thought she couldn’t take any more, Liam reached in between them, finding her clit with his fingers, circling it just as he had with his tongue earlier.

“Come for me, Avery,” he whispered.

As if on cue, her climax crashed into her, sending her into space. Stars danced behind her eyelids as she dug her nails into his back. Liam let out a long, guttural moan, his own orgasm seeming to hit him at the same time.

Rolling over next to her, Liam hit the ground with a thud. Avery let out a little laugh, thinking that they must look ridiculous, naked in the middle of the practice pitch.

“Can I ask what’s so funny?” he asked her a moment later.

“It occurred to me that you’re not used to being the one who scores on the pitch,” she said, hoping he found the joke funny.

“This is a first for me,” he said, returning her laugh. “But I hope not a last.”

“Same.”

Chapter Twenty-Four

"Hold up a sec,” Gunnar said as Liam grabbed the last box out of the van they had rented to help Avery with her move. “Got a question for you while it’s just us.”
