“We need to remedy that,” Julian mumbles.

I’ve already shown him a ring design, and we are working on the proposal. I’ve never done anything like this. Being in a poly relationship is new, and we still have things to figure out. Mainly, whose last name she’s going to take. But I would do it all over again if it meant she was by my side for the rest of my life here on Earth.

Then Lee’s phone buzzes.

The shift in her expression happens instantly after she reads the message. I feel it before she even speaks. That sharpness returning behind her eyes. That dangerous little spark. Julian notices too. His arm tightens around her shoulders.

“What is it?” I ask quietly.

Lee stares at the screen for a long moment before setting the phone face down against her stomach. Then she leans back against Julian’s chest and keeps hold of my hand.

“Maybe,” she says softly, “I’m not done.”

I’m with her no matter what.

Epilogue 1

LEE

Calum demanded we have this poker night to boost morale. It’s been months. Apparently, multiple federal conspiracies and at least one emotionally catastrophic gunfight has made everyone feel a bit down.

My apartment burned most of what I had. But I was lucky that Elliot called the fire department and they were able to get there in time so that the building wasn’t completely destroyed. I’ve been working with a company to restore it. Tonight will be the first time we're back.

We always had poker night here. It’s in an industrial neighborhood everyone’s long forgotten about. It's discreet enough for a bunch of criminals and rogue agents to gather and stay unnoticed.

On the outside, it looks like shit, but inside it’s got lush carpet, leather chairs, soft greens, and neutral colors.

Julian must see me looking around appreciating this space I created.

“Hey, babydoll, you can redecorate our place too,” he says, eyes on his cards.

“Really? You won’t care if I change up the stuff in your house?”

“Our house,” Julian and Elliot say at the same time.

“And of course not. Whatever you want,” Julian says with a shrug. His brows knit as he looks at his cards. He can’t hide his tells.

Riley and Calum glance at him, then they up the ante.

I have to hide my smile behind my hand.

Julian makes everything look effortless, even our relationship. Like he decided we belonged to him and then quietly rearranged the whole world until it was true.

And it isn’t just me. He takes care of Elliot, too, watching him without making it obvious, sliding him water before he asks. They even work out together.

It’s all so damn cute.

I love him so much it makes my chest hurt.

“Where are the guys tonight?” I ask Calum.

“Keep had a date night with Georgie, and Zee is baking while the boys sleep.” He takes a drink of his whiskey.

It makes me laugh thinking of a psycho killer frosting cookies. But it seems he will do anything for Georgie. Including making her bakery a success.

Bash bailed, saying Mags was feeling swollen from her pregnancy, and he needed to take care of her. It was very sweet.

So filling in tonight is Elliot.
