“They attacked me!” I argued. I knew in my heart that besides my deranged ass mama, nobody walking this earth could put fear in me because everybody bled the same way I did. But how the fuck was a nigga supposed to defend himself against a swarm of brightly colored, winged insects?

Destiny was now focused on her phone, watching a video that had me looking like a complete and utter fool. I took the moment to admire her in the sunlight. Her hair was still straightened from the wedding, and she had on her little one piece yellow joint. I licked my lips as my eyes ran over her thighs and imagined them pressed against my ears again.

Then her ass started laughing at the video and completely ruined my fantasy.

“Delete that shit!” I urged, trying to reach around and grab the phone from her.

“Absolutely not!”

“Peep, I swear to God, if that shit ever get leaked, that’s yo’ ass! You already out here fuckin’ up my street cred. Niggas would never respect me if they saw me out here foolin’ like this!” I frowned and looked off with my arms crossed. I was feelin’ like slappin’ the fuck out a nigga just to get my stock back up.

“I’m sorry, baby,” she cooed, pulling my face back to her and kissing me. “I just wanted us to have fun. I didn’t know that you were afraid of butterflies.” She broke out giggling again when the video hit the point where I hollered loud as fuck and took off running for the door of the sanctuary.

“I can’t fuckin’ stand you,” I grumbled, grabbing her by her waist so we could get the fuck away from that embarrassment. The restaurant that she wanted to hit up was within walking distance, so we headed straight over.

We were seated quickly and she was looking at the menu, but I was more preoccupied with sucking on her neck.

“Babe, stop! I’m trying to focus!” She laughed and tried to push me away, but I continued to try my best to devour her like there wasn’t a vast assortment of food available. If she didn’t want to be eaten alive, she shouldn’t have smelled so fuckin’ tasty.

“I don’t care about none of that shit, Peep. Move your damn hands out the way.”

“B-Brick?” I reluctantly pulled away from her to see Mina standing in front of us looking devastated.

Good.

Des cleared her throat and looked back at me accusingly.

“You sure you wanna do this again, Mina?” I asked, threatening her entire existence with one brow raise. Her lips snapped shut as she immediately turned and scurried off. Des turned back to me with a confused expression on her face.

“That was weird, right?” she asked, looking back and forth from me to the door that Mina had just disappeared from. “Did she look… different to you?”

“Nah,” I answered quickly, looking off. I really didn’t feel like getting into it with her ass over Mina the day after our fucking wedding and hoped she would let it go.

“She definitely did!” She kept at it with her persistent ass.

“Maybe she got a new wig or some shit,” I mumbled with a shrug.

“No, that’s not it,” she said, really pondering on it for a minute. “Her butt looks smaller. That’s it!”

“Fuck,” I mumbled, deciding honesty was the best policy. “So, when she was still in her contract with me. She came to me and said she wanted her body done. We were cool, so I went ahead and financed it. Since she violated the terms… She uh… had to get it removed,” I said sheepishly.

“What?” she asked, turning to stare me in my face. “So, you sayin’ you repossessed her… ass?” She was so stunned that her mouth hung wide open.

“She had a choice, she put her house up for collateral. I guess she was smarter than I thought she was.”

“I’m almost positive that it took more money to reverse that, than it did to just let it go,” she murmured like she was adding it up in her head.

“It’s the principle. I’m willing to spend a lil’ more to prove a point.”

“So, you repossessed that lady’s cakes because she broke your stupid contract?” Her nostrils flared and I could tell she was two seconds away from sending me to go give it back.

“I enforced the terms of her contract because she disrespected you. I needed to make it clear to any woman I ever dealt with that coming at you because of my bullshit wouldn’t be tolerated,” I said seriously. The closer we got to the wedding, the more emotional, regretful, and downright nutty my inbox got. I knew right then that I had to make an example so none of these bitches ever thought they could play with Peep.

“Well, that’s… almost romantic.”

“You the one that told me that I needed to make it clear to these women that walking up on you was unacceptable. She acted out first, so she got made the example. Now every time she step out, she’s a walking reminder of why nobody in this city will try that shit again. I already told you, baby—I can’t give you all that romantic shit, but respect is a must,” I promised.

“I don’t know, the dates, the prenup, doing the butterflies with me even though you were obviously sca—” Her words died on her tongue as I shot her a death glare. “Sorry… I’m just saying. You’re doing better than any other man I’ve dated, and definitely my best husband to date.” I kissed her adorable ass face and rolled my eyes.
