I wonder what they taste like.
“What?”
“What?” I asked.
“Do I have something on my lips?” Declan asked, swiping his fingertips across his mouth.
"No. I mean, maybe?"
God, I was going to blow this. I didn't know how to do this. Whatever this was.
"You don't have to be nervous, Ty. I don't bite." My eyes met his. "Unless you want me to."

Declan
Fuck, he was even hotter than I remembered.
The relief that flooded my brain once I found out he texted after Brisbane washed away all doubt. Ty wanted me, thought of me. Apparently, so much that he had to delete Instagram.
"So, why didn't you DM me before you deleted Insta?"
Ty smiled and sighed. "A friend convinced me that it looked desperate."
"Nothing wrong with going after something you like, is there?" I stared at him longer than I should have, waiting for him to blush, but he just stared right back, until he asked, "Have you dated anyone since Brisbane?"
I shook my head.
"Me neither. But you've had sex, right? I mean, of course you have."
I was a little shocked he was so forward, but I didn’t have time to reply.
"I didn't mean it that way. I meant, because you're so-" He gestured at my body.
"Yes, I've had sex. Quite a lot actually. I enjoy it. But it's mostly in the off-season. Doesn't really help me leading up to Nationals to be out late or having random people around messing with my schedule."
"Makes sense.” I watched as he looked down at the table, then back up at me and swallowed. “What season is it now?"
"It's the off-season." I made sure to look directly at him, meeting his green eyes with my brown. I wanted him to know he'd get bedded if he only asked. It didn't take him long to look away and fumble with his hot dog. Now, it was my turn to stare. He fit both sides of the roll, the meat, and all the toppings inside of his mouth without getting a single drop of anything on his lips.
"Wut?" he asked, mouth adorably full.
"Are you trying to flirt with me?"
He swallowed. "I don't think so?"
I laughed. "Well, I've never seen anyone eat a hot dog sexier than that, especially the monsters they have here."
"You enjoyed that?" He put the hot dog down, wiped his hands, then ran his fingers through his blond hair, pulling it around on one side of his neck. It was long enough to run over his shoulder, just hitting his chest. I could see now the side he chose was on purpose. He was trying to cover up his scar. I watched as he brought his bottle to his lips.
"I'll just say it's pertinent to me."
He almost spit his beer out, but kept it down with a few coughs. Good boy. I didn't like spitters; they always took me out of the moment.
"That's good to know."
Fuck. Did I say that out loud? "What's good to know?" I asked.
