Epilogue - Tyler
Two-ish months later
“I still wanna know how we’re affording this?” I asked.
“You’re not gonna drop this are you?”
I gave him the look.
“Yuri and ESPN and GayTravel pulled some strings. Is that enough?”
“Yeah, okay.” I shrugged. “I just didn’t want us to have, like, a hundred-thousand dollar debt or something.”
“I’m very happy you’re so concerned with our future financial stability.”
“Well, there’s no way Pierce could afford this either.”
It took a little convincing, since the only one of Pierce’s friends that could make the Nines trip weekend this year was Neill, but I suggested they join us instead of going off on their own. We were celebrating our third anniversary with our friends in the Maldives.
“So, we’re not paying for this?” I heard Cam ask.
“Shhh.”
I turned to see Cam and Luke entering the lobby, followed by a giggling Graham and Jake. We were just waiting for two more couples.
Well, a couple and Pierce and Neill.
“How many people can stay here at a time? This seems really exclusive,” Graham asked.
“I think it’s like thirty-four-ish,” I answered.
“And it’s just for gay men? Is it clothing-optional?” Jake asked.
I actually didn’t know, so I turned to Declan.
“Yes to the first question and yes to the second, but only in some areas,” he answered.
“What about Pierce and Neill?” I asked, suddenly concerned.
“The resort was fine with it since we’re here to promote it. I didn’t think they would mind.”
“It’s all inclusive, so I doubt it. I don’t think they’ve ever been to a place like this. Plus, it seems like there’s a lot to do here. They shouldn’t need women to occupy themselves.”
Freddie and Dante were the next to arrive via the water taxi. They found us at one of the bars. We were all a little tipsy when Pierce and Neill showed up. It was starting to get dark.
“Finally, some other non-Olympians!” Freddie practically squealed as he jumped off his chair and ran over to introduce himself. He came out of his shell a little more now that he was partnered and half-drunk.
As Freddie returned to us with Pierce and Neill in tow, Dante said, “Not sure how much it matters that they aren’t Olympians, Freddie. They certainly look like they could be.”
I think Neill heard him because he smirked and whispered something to Pierce. I gave the late arrivals a hug and pushed Pierce away when he mussed my hair.
“This place is sick, bro. Thanks for inviting us.”
I don’t know why but I went in for another hug.
“How drunk are you right now?”
