“Let me see your phone.”

“Why?”

“Tyler.”

“Okay, fine. But really, it’s a compliment.” Ty handed me his phone. “I mean, the videos do you justice. You are well endowed. It’s hard to hide that behind a few millimeters of lycra. Especially since you don’t wear anything underneath.”

I typed his code in and opened the browser.

Yup. There’s my junk.

To be fair, it did bounce from side to side. Hard not to when you’re running twenty miles per hour.

I chuckled and handed him his phone back. “Did you ask them for the website?”

“No!”

I continued to stare.

“I just looked it up myself. It wasn’t hard to find.”

I ignored the innuendo and silently thanked him for distracting me from my thoughts, which of course made me return to thinking about what I was going to do after London.

“Do not start thinking about the future again! Unless it involves the main part of that bulge and its future position inside me!”

I was definitely thinking about fucking now.

The schedule for the final day was much like the first. We started and ended at the same times, but obviously had different events. Hurdles was first, and despite coming in second place, I actually earned a personal record.

Discus was my weakest event and despite doing pretty good for myself, the others were so much better, it was almost embarrassing. I came in eighteenth out of the remaining field of twenty-four competitors.

Halfway through the pole vault, Yuri and I had an important decision to make. Should I keep trying, or withdraw?

I had just cleared five meters. Seventeen athletes were already out, having missed three tries at five meters, or an earlier height. I hadn’t even started until four point seven meters, knowing I could easily clear it. Pole vault was one of the events where you had a lot of choice on when to participate.

The longer the event ran, the more energy I would burn, which could possibly put me at a disadvantage in the final two events: javelin and the fifteen hundred meters.

“Depending on how far the others get, you could be a few hundred points behind them, even in seventh place. I’m not sure we can afford to drop out.”

I sighed. “Maybe I sit five point one out and try for five point two?”

“That’ll work for now. We don’t have to withdraw just yet, and we’ll see if we can gain any ground on who’s left.”

I nodded, trying to stay loose as we waited to see if anyone dropped out at five point one.

Ten minutes later and two had fouled out. Including me, there were five guys left.

“Think you can make five point three?”

“I’ve done it before, but I think I should attempt five point two.”

Yuri nodded. “I’ll let the officials know.”

Our strategy for the pole vault paid off. My success at five point two was enough for third place. I didn’t try another height. I wasn’t going for a record. I was in it for the gold. And since I hadn’t tired myself out straining in one of the more energy-consuming events, I was able to produce another personal record. I finished second in the javelin because of my last throw.

With only one event left, I was still in the lead, but Asher had done surprisingly well for his first time. He was only sixty-four points behind me. And there were still three others within a couple hundred of us. It was never easy. It was always a fight.
