“Yeah…I’ll tell you right now, Ty, that’s never gonna work for me.”

I punched him on the shoulder. “Way to make me look bad.”

“As far as I’m concerned, your speech in front of everyone at my parents’ was my gift this year. Plus, in my opinion, it’s always better to give than receive.”

I couldn’t help but smile. “Funny you should say that, because I actually prefer receiving.”

Declan leaned in. “I’m aware.”

I took a quick glance at his well-worn jeans. The crotch was definitely at full capacity. I snuggled closer, letting my knuckles graze his bulge.

“You’re such a fucking tease. Open your gift before I carry you out of this room in front of your family. I have no shame.”

Despite wanting to desperately feel him inside me, I needed to spend time with my family. It was the whole reason we took the red eye. I knew I could have Declan any time I wanted to, and I intended for it to be that way forever.

Inside the box, something was wrapped in a bunch of tissue paper, so I carefully started peeling back the layers. Whatever it was felt heavy. Too heavy for a key. I wasn’t sure he was even looking for a place for us yet. We had only just started the discussion. Maybe he was waiting until we could go look together?

I got to the last layer and recognized it immediately. It was his gold medal from the decathlon at the World Athletics Championships in Rome. “You’re giving this to me?”

“I wanted you to have it. Something special for someone special.”

My heart felt like it was going to flutter away. I was overwhelmed. “I don’t know what else to say but thank you.”

“Plus, you’ve earned it.”

“What do you mean? How?”

“It’s your medal for the dickathlon. I’ve decided you won.”

“But we didn’t do anything the last two days,” I said, hoping the confusion was clear in my voice.

“I know. I changed the last event from something sexual-”

“To something from the heart?” I guessed.

“You got it, babe. It was the most important event of them all.” He seemed to think about what he said, because he added, “And don’t come at me with any sass. You know it’s true.”

To be fair, I was about to sass him. I loved that he could read my mind like that.

“Fine, I’ll accept your medal. Just know that I didn’t compete in the dickathlon alone. Every event required two dicks and based on the rules of the competition, I must share this medal with you.”

“Bro, did you just say dickathlon?”

Pierce must’ve overheard us, but we couldn’t answer. We were too busy laughing our asses off.

One and half years later…

LONDON

It was almost comical being around Cam and Luke again. I’m sure it was clear to more than just me that they both still had it bad for each other. And it was pretty fun to fuck with Luke’s coach, Cassie, but I knew he’d get shit if I went too far, so I did my best to keep it low-key.

On one of his first trips out to spend time with us, Declan’s advice to Luke was to ‘fuck or forget’ Cam. When I called bullshit on that, pointing at him and me, he withdrew his advice since he and I had certainly never forgotten each other. Granted, we ended up together after just over a year apart and Luke had now waited four, but their stares of longing and quickly averted eyes certainly provided some entertainment.

I was worried that being back at the Olympics as a non-athlete was going to be an issue, but it seemed I was coping admirably so far. I had fallen into my role as a coach well, according to Woodward anyway. And if I was being honest with myself, it felt really good helping the guys.

The only one - other than Cam and Luke - I had spent any significant amount of time with was Alex. I hadn’t remembered until the day I finally watched the footage of me at the Winter Cup, but he was there - one of the first people to get to me. After seeing it, I sort of remembered but it still wasn’t completely clear. I had already thanked him back then, but I said it again a few days ago. I knew he was going to do amazing here in London.
