As a family - I knew we weren’t married or anything, but it still felt like that - we had already snorkeled over the reef, explored the lava flows, and visited the zoo.

“Let’s go get ready.”

“We need to get ready?” I asked.

Eli nodded, then grabbed my hand, dragging me to the elevator.

When we entered the suite, I followed Eli into the bedroom. My cock started to thicken in my shorts.

“Here we go.” He gestured to two garment bags on the king-sized bed. “This one’s yours.”

I unzipped the bag to reveal a gorgeous iridescent navy blue suit. “That’s what the measurements were for? I thought you were getting me a harness.”

Eli laughed. “I can still get you one of those.”

I slipped my shorts off and pulled the tank over my head. Standing there in just a white jockstrap, I was hoping to entice him to take me. We were alone, and I had been leaking precum all day at the thought of getting my lips around his cock again.

“No, no, you little siren. Get dressed. We have a reservation.”

“A reservation?”

Where were we going?

I couldn’t help but fidget. This place was really fancy. Fancier than Vesuvius.

“Please order whatever you like.”

I nodded.

“You seem nervous? Everything okay?” Eli asked.

“Just wondering what the occasion is, though you look damn good in gray.”

“It’s a big step in a relationship. A vacation.”

“Is that all?” I knew what he was saying, but teasing him was just too much fun.

“Is that all? Of course, that’s not all. I mean-” Eli put his menu aside, “I just…I want you to know how special you are to me.”

“I know.”

The server brought our drinks and took our dinner order.

Eli took a sip of his double whiskey, then continued, “I never thought I’d want to give a relationship a try ever again. Like, ever.” He paused to take another sip. “But when I’m with you, I just feel so relaxed, so happy. Like I’m home. Like here-” he gestured to our surroundings, “I should be worried about what’s happening at work, what my accounts are up to, but I haven’t looked at the numbers in days. For once, I’m letting someone else handle it.”

“I don’t want to keep you from your work.” I shrugged. Not quite understanding what he was saying.

“God, this isn’t coming out right.” He reached for my hands with both of his, so I gave him mine. “I’m just trying to tell you that while I haven’t known you very long, you make me really happy, Gareth. Happier than I’ve ever been, and you’re great with Trey. We’re so lucky that you came into our lives. You’re sweet and kind, patient and gentle, a generous lover. I can’t even remember what my life was like before I met you.”

I knew what he was saying, so I pulled his hands towards my lips and gave them a kiss. “I love you too.”

“I-I…I don’t want you to feel obligated to say that.”

“Expressing my feelings isn’t an obligation. That’s what you were saying just now, isn’t it? You love me. But you were afraid to say it, either because you weren’t sure how I felt or you did, but still thought it was too soon. Am I right?”

“I forgot to say how perceptive you are.” Eli laughed. “You’re absolutely right. I was afraid. Afraid that if I confessed my love too soon, I’d scare you off. I didn’t think you were looking for a relationship either.”

“I wasn’t, and then one fell into my lap. It turns out having no expectations might be the key to happiness.”
