He poked his head out of his walk-in closet. “Here. Just getting dressed.”

Dressed? “Are you sure that is something you should be doing right now?”

He came out in a pair of relaxed slacks that hugged his hips and a Luca Faloni open-collar shirt, freshly bathed and shaven.

“How long was I sleeping?” I asked.

“Long enough for me to get cleaned up. I’m feeling immensely better.”

Gaetano strutted over to the bed and even I had to admit, his body seemed to vibrate with his usual energy. As I started to get up, he pushed me back on the bed, pressing my knees to my ears, and buried his head between my welcoming thighs, lapping at my pussy.

“Ohhh! That feels so good.”

His tongue was pure heaven. Alternating his strokes with circling my clit, he drove me closer and closer to the edge of oblivion. Just as I was about to convulse on his tongue, he pulled away.

“Hey!” I pouted. “That’s not very nice.”

Tano stood and grinned at me. “Consider this the first step of your punishment. I have that meeting with Romeo and Massimo and then a few things I need to take care of. Be rested and ready for tonight, Gabriella. We’re finally getting that family dinner.”

My jaw dropped as he strode confidently out of the room. And just like that, he was back in charge, and I was scrambling to do his bidding. Vittoria, my soon-to-be sister-in-law, had told me she could set me up with whatever I needed, but I knew exactly what I wanted. I texted Vincent. “I need my things from the Hamptons. Any chance you can take me?”

“Already done and in the walk-in closet in Dr. Vitale’s suite.”

Wow, he didn’t waste any time. “Thank you, Vincent.”

“My pleasure, Miss Calabretta. Thank you for saving the boss's life.”

Aww, that was sweet. “It was a team effort. Thank you for saving us both.”

Vincent would be blushing and unsure what to say, so I didn’t expect him to reply. But as I flipped through the new wardrobe my man had purchased for me during my time at the safe house, my phone pinged with a new message from Vincent.

I was just doing my job, ma’am.

Deciding he was way too stoic, I decided to embarrass him and sent him heart and kissy emojis, laughing as I imagined his face when he read the text.

Finally deciding on my outfit, I laid it out on the bed along with the outfit I planned on wearing later. Now for some food. I couldn’t remember the last time I’d eaten anything, and I was starving.

But as I opened the door, Vinny stood there, his hand in the air about to knock.

“Hey, I was just coming to get you for lunch.”

Out of all Tano’s brothers, Vinny had the sunniest disposition. But underneath that, I sensed there was a lot more to the man.

“Perfect. I’m starving.”

He led me through the house to the kitchen where the noon meal was being set out. This was my first time eating here, as anything I needed while tending to Tano was brought to me in the infirmary and then his suite.

It was a massive kitchen and smelled of home-baked bread. Their mother, Isabella, stood at the counter assembling a Caprese salad. She lifted her head and smiled in greeting. “There is the doctor! Please, come and sit.”

I grabbed a stool at the long counter and sat opposite her. “I’m not a doctor, Mrs. Vitale, just a simple nurse.”

“Oh? I don’t think there is anything simple about you, Gabriella.”

Vinny laughed and stepped up, kissing his mother on her brow.

“Ciao, Mama! It smells delicious.”

She leaned into her son, her smile widening.
