Am I so cold a bastart as that?
“Forgive me,” he said as he stroked his hand over her hair. “’Twas too rough, what I did.”
“No, I’ve been thoughtless.” Emery wiped the tears from her face and sat up. “You have enough to worry about without me adding to your troubles.” She looked down at him. “That’s all I seem to do lately. I am really sorry, and I’ll be more careful from now on.”
When she bent down to kiss him Luthias cradled the back of her head, and pulled her over on top of him. She tasted of tears and her own sweetness, and her response changed from hesitant to heady. Always it was like this with her, even now, when his anger still roiled inside him. He felt her hand moving over him, gliding down the vault of his chest and over his hip, reaching under him for the laces of his trews. His cock swelled as she loosened and tugged down the wool separating his flesh from her small, cool fingers.
“You neednae,” he murmured against her lips.
“I want to. You need this. Let me.” She shifted down, rubbing her cheek against his chest and belly before her mouth engulfed his straining cockhead.
Luthias groaned at the feel of her lips caressing him, and the wanton way she tugged on his shaft as she rubbed him with her tongue. Yet as she loved him with her mouth he felt his hunger for her billowing ever higher, and finally lifted her from him and rolled her onto her belly, standing to shed his trews before he pulled her hips to the edge of the mattress.
He moved his hands up her back to her arms, stretching them over her head as he stepped between her thighs. “Your soft little quim on my cock, ’tis what I need.”
Nothing felt as good as her silken slickness enveloping the hot, hard bulb of his erection, except to push inside her, going deep into her tight, clenching sex. She’d just been weeping, and still she was ready for him, wet for him. She lifted her hips, inviting every thrust he gave her, and whimpered when he gripped her lovely arse and with his thumb stroked the tight, rosy pucker above the gleaming glide of his thick shaft. Watching her take him made him want to spill, but he needed to feel her finding her bliss before he sought his own.
Taking her made him forget every pleasure he’d ever known. No woman would ever make him as hard as Mery did; none would ever satisfy him as much as facking her did.
“You’ll stay here in my bed the rest of the day,” he said as he bent down to kiss the nape of her neck. “I shall return when I want you again. When I come you’ll be naked and waiting for me. I shall do as I wish with you today, and you’ll no’ argue.”
“Yes.” She gasped as he went deeper and harder. “Luthias. Oh.”
“Aye, and from now on you’ll do as I say,” he told her, reaching under her to stroke the hard nub of her clit as he pounded into her. “Whatever I wish from you, you’ll give me. At once. Happily.”
“Anything.” She writhed under him. “Please.”
“I shall fill you over and again,” Luthias promised. “Then I shall bathe your pretty body, and begin anew. After tonight you shallnae remember what ’tis like to sleep alone. You’ll slumber in my arms, with my cock in your quim, so I may fack you when we wake in the morn.”
Emery fisted her hands in the bed linens as she cried out his name.
He pumped his cock furiously into her core, feeling the tremors spreading inside her and wrapping around him as she came. That sent his need into wild bliss, and he jetted deep inside her, filling her softness with his seed until he had spent his last. He braced himself over her, putting his mouth to her nape, the curve of her ear, and her cheek.
“You’re mine, Mery,” Luthias said as he withdrew from her, and gathered her up to hold her close. “My woman. My lover. My love.”
She curled her arms around his neck as she rested her cheek against his shoulder and sighed. “You’re going to make me cry again.”
Luthias had no doubt he would.
“No more weeping.” He leaned over to tug back the rumpled linens, and put her in his bed. “Now rest until I return.” He bent down to kiss her brow, and saw how her mouth curved. “Stop smiling. ’Tis a punishment, no’ a reward.”
The smile left Emery’s lips to dance in her eyes. “Yes, my lord.”
Chapter Fourteen
Callum stayed in the shadows at the edge of the clearing, looking down at the MacRoss stronghold. He’d secretly followed Emery from the camp, and watched how Luthias had reacted when he’d found her alone. A blind man could see that the laird had become entirely bewitched by the lass. He could use that to control the only other man as powerful as he was in the highlands. The MacRoss had always been his enemy, but he could easily bring him to his knees by using Emery as a weapon.
Emery, who only a few hours ago had cleaned and bound his leg––and that while somehow knowing he had injured himself deliberately.
As laird of the Carack, Callum commanded a full garrison of immortal half-Fae warriors, ruled over thousands of mortals, and instilled fear in the hearts of everyone who even imagined crossing him. He had gathered so much wealth he could purchase a country of his own with coin to spare. Every powerful mortal laird in the highlands feared his wrath. No one had ever prevailed over him or his clan. Even in the times of skirmishing with the MacRoss they had always fought to a draw, never a victory. He knew what he was, and his duty to his clan, and yet with four words that little lass had completely disarmed him.
You’re a nice man.
For a moment her claim had even given Callum some hope. Any feeling he might have stirred in her should have shown in her eyes, but now he suspected he would never win her heart away from the MacRoss. He’d heard the change in her voice today when she’d spoken about the laird. She claimed they shared only friendship, but he sensed she had already become Luthias’s lover.
It should have angered him to lose Emery to Luthias, but Callum almost felt sorry for both of them. The MacRoss could not marry a mortal, nor sire her bairns. The lass would not remain in a time not her own. Whatever they felt for each other was doomed to end in heartbreak.
As Athdara broke my heart. For all his flirtation with Emery he still loved the jewel-setter, and it made him bitter, for his traitorous woman would never feel the same for him.
