“Yes, I’m sure,” I say before he can speak. “Now, please make love to me.”

A slow smile spreads across his face as he reaches over to his jeans and pulls a condom from his wallet. He grabs a spare too before returning to the bed, ripping the packet open with his teeth.

Jesus Christ. That should not be as attractive as it is.

He rolls the condom on quickly before tossing the extra packet onto the bedside table and moving back over me. I smile as he leans down and kisses me again. One of my hands slides into his hair while the other trails slowly over his shoulder blade. He positions himself at my entrance, and our eyes lock while he slowly pushes inside me.

The moment we connect, something shifts between us.

Something deep.

Something unmistakable.

Love.

Devotion.

Certainty.

A shiver runs through my entire body while emotion crashes into me so hard it almost steals my breath. My body trembles beneath him, but it’s not fear this time. It’s happiness.

Pure happiness.

I’m connected to Caleb again, just like I was all those years ago.

Only this time it means more.

Back then, we were kids trying to figure out what love felt like.

Now we know.

I stare into his beautiful chocolate-brown eyes while he eases deeper inside me, and everything about this moment feels perfect.

Absolutely perfect.

I moan softly against his lips, and he groans right back into my mouth before I wrap my legs around his waist, pulling him even deeper. He kisses me slowly while we begin moving together in perfect rhythm.

Pleasure rolls through me immediately. Feeling him inside me again is overwhelming in the best possible way.

When we were younger, this felt incredible too, but now it’s different. There’s emotion in every touch, which means in every movement. This isn’t just sex anymore.

This is love.

Real love.

Caleb moves slowly, deliberately, grinding into me with deep, steady thrusts that make my entire body melt beneath him. Nothing about this feels rushed or frantic.

It’s nothing like the empty encounters I’ve had with other men over the years, trying to convince myself I didn’t need him.

This feels alive.

Every movement says ‘I love you,’ even when neither of us speaks.

“Oh God, Indi, you feel so good,” he murmurs against my lips.

I kiss him harder while his hips rock deeper into me.

“I love you so much,” I whisper.
