“After you, Miss Woods.”
I narrow my eyes at him, venom seeping from my pores. “Let’s get one thing straight, Rush Hatcher. I will never sleep with you. This begins and ends at the track. Am I clear?”
“I never asked for anything more.” His lip quirks and I can feel the sting from here.
“I loathe men like you. Thinking all they have to do is snap their fingers and can any woman they want. I’m not that woman, Rush. It takes a helluva lot more than a jump start and a fast ride.” I seethe in his direction. Rush smolders, sending my body into a frenzy. His eyes take a slow run down my body, burning a path as he does, leaving me wanton.
“Oh Spencer, you’ve watched me enough by now to know that isn’t my style when I want someone to never forget me. It won’t be fast and easy. I’m gonna take my time and own your body the way a man should. The way you deserve to be taken.” His lips part and my mouth waters. The need to taste them is stronger than anything I’ve ever desired, the raspberry color turning pink when his teeth sink into them.
I swallow hard, forcing myself to look away. “Well, it seems as though we have an agreement.”
“I guess we do, Princess.” He cocks his brow.
“Don’t call me Princess, Hatcher.”
“Yes, ma’am.” He nods his head and knocks on the window of the car. “Let’s go.”
I pivot, headed back into the building with Rush and Margo right behind me. I can hear him complaining all the way inside. Margo snickers at his every word, and I can’t help but smile.
That’s until he utters his next words. “Definitely a fine-looking Prince-ass.”
I whirl around, catching him off guard and a little too close for comfort. Margo’s brows hit her hairline. “Excuse me? You were saying?”
“Nothing,” he smashes his mouth into a thin line.
“Doesn’t surprise me.” I face the elevators when he clears his throat.
“Nothing at all, Honey.”
The doors open and I stand to the side, allowing Margo in before me. I lay my hand on the door, stopping it from closing as I turn back to him. His boyish charm showcasing his smile, doesn’t affect me. Much.
“You may think that’s cute and funny, but it’s unprofessional and juvenile. We’ll add that to the list of improvements you’ll be needing to make.”
His smile melts immediately, and he takes a wary step toward me. “Maybe so, but I’ll never stop appreciating a fine ass.”
“As long as you know you’ll never lay a hand on it.”
He smirks, stepping in between the opening. “But, I already have.”
My face heats as I begin to tremble with fury. I release the doors, and he lunges forward but not in time to catch them from closing. I shake my body, throwing my hands in the air, hoping to release my pent up tension.
“I hate him. Loathe him. I could… just…” I grind my jaw, forcing myself to not curse out loud.
“Looks to me like you need to kiss him.” A tall, dark well-built man quips. I cut my eyes, wanting to level him for the suggestion, but something tells me not to.
“I’d rather kiss a frog.”
He presses the call button, smirking. “I can understand why. I know him well.”
“I feel as though you deserve an apology, but considering I don’t know you; I’ll refrain.” I cross my arms, feeling defensive. For some reason, this guy makes my hackles rise.
He leans against the middle of the wall, covering the control panel. “No apologies required, but dinner would nice.”
“Thank you, but I’m working late, and I have a million things to finish.” The hairs on the back of neck prickle and my stomach churns with uneasiness. The elevator chimes as the doors open, but he doesn’t move. His eyes peruse my body, making me feel extremely uncomfortable.
“Spencer,” Rush’s voice jars me with a deep, venomous tone. “this way, please.”
He reaches for me, and I latch onto his hand like a lifeline. Rush grips it, pulling me to his side protectively. “Lane.”
