I peek over the topof my phone at Ridge as he wears a hole in the place's floor. I've held it in front of my face since Mackenzie was rolled into the back.

I'm not reading anything, I haven't even texted for a ride, although I should. I'm sitting here, surveying the lay of the land. Getting a feel of my surroundings.

Okay, fine! I'm ogling Ridge and every sinew of his muscles. My oh my, adulthood has done his body good. My eyes flicker around the room as I'm about to enter stealth mode to check out his ass.

"Hey." I startle, juggling my phone when he falls into the seat beside me. "Did I scare you?"

"No, not at all. Just doing a little reading while I wait on my ride." I wave my phone, praying he doesn't notice it's the home screen.

He grips the chair bottom. "You called for someone to come get you?"

"Yeah, I figured Mackenzie and Boone's family will be here soon. They'll probably need the space, no reason for me to stay." I avert my eyes, knowing he'll see right through me.

His knee trots. "I-I could give you a ride after. I mean, if you don't mind waiting."

"I'd hate to put you out and maybe make you late getting back to your apartment. Lover." I side eye him, doing my best not to snicker or smack him.

He drops his head, toeing at the tiled floor. "Trixie and I have hung out but we're not dating. I haven't dated one person since you."

"We never dated either." I smirk. "What we did were things that were considered illegal in all fifty once you turned eighteen."

"It sure as hell was." I glance at him as he grins boyishly. "I'll be damned if you're not still smokin' hot too."

"Apparently you are too, burnin' through a mountain of rubbers with Trixie and company."

He shakes his head. "Seriously? I can't even with this attitude."

"Maybe Trixie has a friend."

"Harper," I turn to find him mere inches from my face. "there's never been another you."

My heart clinches. I want to believe him; I do. "You sure as hell tried to find one though, didn't you?"

"No, I tried to forget you. Obviously, it didn't work."

I slump, curling in on myself and shameful attitude. "I'm sorry, it's not like I have a claim on you. Hell, I've been married. I don't have a right to say anything to you because I'm jealous."

"Jealous?" His head spins. "Are you telling me, you're jealous of them?"

I narrow my eyes. "Wouldn't you be? I'm almost positive you were jealous of Weston."

"I'm not jealous, never have been. What's mine is mine, and Harper you're mine." His eyes burn with a frenzied desire, igniting a fiery craving in me.

"Ridge!" Our heads whip around as a crowd of people fill the room, all of them looking to Ridge for answers. "How is she?"

He stands, grabbing my hand and pulling me with him. "Hey, Kenny. She was doing great when they took her and Boone back."

"She's making her old man nervous taking so long." He pats Ridge on the back, smiling at me. "You gonna introduce me or are you afraid I'll take her from ya, young buck."

I giggle, offering my hand. "It's good to see you again, Mr. Baker. I'm Harper Jennings, I went to school with Mack and Ridge."

"I’m Kenny, and I remember you now. It also helps he hasn't stopped pining over you since you left." He elbows Ridge with a wink. "I'm gonna help you out, son."

"Really? It didn't much look like it earlier when ole Trixie come calling on him." I can't help myself; I have to gig him again. Ridge blushes with his every word.

He cracks his knuckles, trying to look unaffected. "You two are more trouble than you're worth."

"Uncle Ridge!" Rumor runs through the door and straight into his arms. "My baby brother's coming."
