“This was supposed to be quick,” she mumbles between my legs, gripping my ass, dragging her tongue slowly up my center. “Turn around.”

I flip around and she tugs me back, burying her face between my legs, not wasting a moment. When she lifts her ass off the bed, I push her pants down past her knees and she spreads her thighs for me. Her grip tightens when I lick down her center and run the tip of my tongue over her clit until she’s chasing my touch. If this isn’t the best lunch break activity, I don’t know what is. My mouth falls open when she slips her fingers inside me, pumping them in and out in quick, hard thrusts. I won’t last long. Increasing the vibration on the wand, I return it to her sweet spot. She grinds against the toy and her moan skitters across my flesh, pushing me over the edge with her.

I shift sideways, falling onto my back right next to her. Our fingers intertwining between us.

“Fuck,” she breathes, squeezing my fingers once before pulling her hand away to stand. I gaze at her while she fixes her uniform.

“You are so delicious,” I purr. “Inside and out.”

I get a full smile out of her. She’s the kind of beautiful that makes you want to fall to your knees and stay there. Give me a pillow or a soft mat and I’ll be fine down here. The bed sinks when she leans over me, caging me beneath her.

“And you, love, are ravishing.” She leans down and kisses me as if I’m precious. “I have to go. If you don’t get up and get dressed, I’ll do nothing but stare at you all day and end up rushing back home again.”

I pull her back to me when she attempts to leave, and she cups my jaw, rubbing her thumb across my cheek.

“I want to marry you,” I whisper.

Her eyes soften, and she captures my lips again, unhurried this time. She smiles against my lips before bolting to her closet. While she’s rustling through her things, I gather my skirt and panties off the ground, slipping them back on and righting my shirt. She comes back out with a crooked grin and reaches for my left hand, sliding a golden band with an emerald in the middle flanked by diamonds on both sides onto my ring finger.

My heart stutters. She already had a ring, and it’s…perfectly…us.

“Forever green,” she promises, and I squeal, wrapping my arms around her neck, and she squeezes me back just as hard.

“Forever green,” I agree.

“How long have you had this hidden away?” I pry.

“You don’t want to know.” She kisses my cheek and tries to walk out the door, but I grab her wrist.

“Babe,” I beg.

“Sam, I knew you would be mine after the first time I saw you. I had already snuck into your house and measured your figure before sunrise the following day.”

She snickers, putting her finger under my chin and closing my mouth that had dropped open at her confession.

“Remember to hydrate while I’m gone.” She pinches her lips together, trying not to laugh, but it just makes her look even more beautiful. I stand in the doorway, staring after her as she climbs into the cruiser, completely dumbfounded…but in a good way. Within a few seconds, Ryker opens the driver’s door and rushes towards me, wrapping his arms around my waist and spinning me in a circle before placing me back on my feet.

“Ow,” he says dramatically, looking back at Nyx who currently has her mouth on his ass cheek, threatening to clamp down. When he releases me, she does the same to him. “Congratulations, sis,” he smiles so wide his perfect white teeth show.

“Thank you,” I chuckle, and then he’s off, sprinting back to the car. I hope they don’t get into trouble for their little drop-in.

Ki blows me a kiss when they reach the end of the driveway, and I catch it, shoving it right into my heart.

“I’m marrying my stalker,” I say out loud. Nyx glances up at me when I look down at her. She barks and jumps on me, licking my cheek, and I scratch her behind the ears, laughing. “I’m glad you approve, Nyxie baby, because you’re the flower girl.”

Epilogue

Kioni

Six Months Later

“K9 requested, suspect just bailed from the vehicle and is heading westbound,” a voice crackles through the radio.

“Yes!” Ryker shouts too enthusiastically and reaches behind him to pet Nyx, who has her head through the opening between our seats. She tilts her head away from his touch, and I chuckle under my breath. “Seriously?” He throws his hands up.

I feel bad for him, but it’s comical. He’s spent so much time with her over the last several months in training, and she still rarely lets him pet her. She will follow his commands, but he’s chopped liver when it comes to affection. I trained with them too, but this is Ryker’s thing. Whether it was an attempt to befriend the beast, just for fun, or a competition to have the best canine, he went all out, and I won’t take that away from him. When we are working, she is his.

“K9 en route. Coming around the corner now,” I respond. We were already on our way from the drug bust where the suspect had fled. After we assisted in clearing the area, we hightailed it out of there, assuming this was going to happen.
