“How long have you lived here?”

“Almost three years. It took some serious saving.”

“I can imagine,” he said. “Miami isn’t cheap.”

I chuckled, leaning against the counter. “You’re right about that. But it’s worth every penny.”

His gaze swept over me, taking in my bare feet on the tiled floor, my comfortable capris, and the loose shirt I wore. A soft smile flickered across his lips. “You look very much at home here.”

I didn’t know why it mattered so much to me that he approved of my life here in Miami but it did.

“Thank you, I feel at home here,” I said.

We drank our mojitos in silence, savoring the sweet sourness. A gentle summer breeze wafted in from an open window.

“Do you miss Texas?” he asked quietly.

There was a loaded question if I’d ever heard one. “Yes.”

“What do you miss about it?”

I finished my drink and put down the glass before I answered. “You.”

He stared at me for several long seconds. I waited to see what he would say. He put down his glass and then stalked toward me. The look in his eyes was pure fire.

“Do you know how many times I thought of making that very same confession?” he asked, his voice low and rough.

I nodded, my heart pounding in my chest. “Yeah. I do.”

He cupped my face and his lips crashed against mine. His taste was unmistakable. His kiss was passionate, hungry, and filled with the same longing I felt. When he pulled back, I could see the raw emotion on his face. It mirrored mine.

Without another word, he took me by the hand and led me to the bedroom.

In the dim light, he undressed me slowly, taking his time. My breath caught in my throat as his callused hands brushed over my skin. He kissed me again, never stopping as he explored every inch of me. My body was on fire for him.

He moaned into the kiss. I knew without a doubt that I wanted him just as much as he wanted me. The feeling was intense. It was too much to ask for.

In response, I slid my hands underneath his shirt and ran my fingers along his bare skin. The feel of his muscles flexing under my touch sent shivers down my spine. He broke the kiss and pulled away slightly, looking into my eyes. “I’ve wanted this for so long.”

“Me too.”

He pulled off his shirt and tossed it aside before leaning down again, capturing one of my nipples in his mouth, suckling on it softly. My back arched involuntarily and a gasp escaped my lips. “Kannon,” I whimpered out.

His name was a prayer on my lips, begging for more of everything he was giving me. His rough hands found their way down to the waistband of my panties. He slipped them off with ease, then stepped back and looked at me completely naked before him.

“You are breathtaking,” he whispered before bending down to claim my mouth once again. The taste of the mojito on his tongue excited me.

He carefully laid me down on the bed. I looked up at him, appreciating the view of him wearing nothing but his jeans. It only took him a few seconds before he unhooked the button and stepped out of them.

He leaned down over me, kissing me on the lips before pulling away. His kisses trailed down my jaw and then to my breasts. “You’re so beautiful, Merritt,” he murmured against my skin. “I’ve been thinking about this since that night at your house.”

I couldn’t hold back my moan as he teased me, nibbling and sucking on my nipples. It felt so good. He moved down until he was above my pussy. His breath fanned over me, tickling my nerve endings.

“I want you to remember tonight for the rest of your life,” he whispered before shifting to dip his head down and lapping at my folds with his tongue. I screamed out in pleasure.

He lapped at me, teasing and tasting. I couldn’t believe how good it felt.

“Fuck,” I gasped out.
