His gaze moves over my face.

“Dizzy?”

I narrow my eyes.

“Are you secretly a doctor too?”

“No.”

“You sound like one.”

“I called one.”

I stop walking.

“What?”

“He's waiting upstairs.”

Xavier stops too.

His thumb moves once across the back of my hand.

“I wasn't asking.”

There he is.

I almost smile.
