I don't need to raise my voice.
The team moves.
So do I.
The next several minutes reduce to sound and movement.
Doors.
Concrete.
Commands.
Someone running.
A body hitting a wall somewhere ahead.
One of my men signals left.
Another takes the corridor.
I stay behind the lead pair because I'm not stupid enough to destroy her rescue trying to prove something.
But every second feels like an hour.
Then I see the room.
Metal chair.
Blood on the floor.
Empty restraints.
My heart stops.
“No.”
One of the team members checks the corridor.
“Secondary room.”
I see the smear on the wall.
Blood.
Her blood.
Something inside me goes feral.
I don't remember crossing the next distance.
A man comes through a doorway.
Weapon.
My team takes him down before I reach him.
Another shout.
