*Buzz*
“Noah?”
“Sorry, Princess. Hold on.”
I quickly get out of the hot tub and walk back inside, letting the water drip all over their marble floors. She folds her arms on the edge of the tub and watches me as I grab my clothes and pull out my phone.
Jeremy
Red night?
Noah
Red Night.
That’s the only thing that needs to be said.
“Noah? Who is it?” her annoying voice calls from the hot tub.
“No one, Princess.”
“Fine. Come back to the tub. You didn’t finish.”
I bring my clothes and shoes out to the back deck and set them and my phone on the chair.
“I’m going to run to the bathroom. Which door is it? This place is a maze,” I lie.
I know the exact layout of this house like the back of my hand.
“Go through the kitchen, third door on the left.”
“Thanks, Princess.” I kiss her quickly before turning and walking inside. “I’ll be right back.”
I wait in the bathroom for almost five minutes. I know curiosity is going to get the best of her. She’s seen my passcode for my screen plenty of times. The phone will go off, and she’ll be dying to know who dares to pull my attention away from her. That’s when she’ll see the unknown number that I’ve been texting back and forth with for the last week.
Fun fact, it’s actually my burner phone that I gave to Jeremy last night. I told him to text me asking if it was a red night, and if I respond red night, it means to use the burner to text me and get her attention. This is what I do every time I need to get rid of the person I’ve used to get closer to my real target. I make it look like I’m the one who’s cheating, so they’re the ones to break it off. It breaks their heart, and they want nothing else to do with me. Simple enough, doesn’t have them wanting to get me back, and I can get rid of them, no questions asked.
Then her buddy Marco can swoop in and save the day. Stupid little fuck. Hope he can grow some balls and tell her how he really feels, or else he will be stuck in the friend zone forever.
As I step onto the back deck, I can see Angela standing there with her back to me. Her shoulders are tense, and I can see her starting to shake. Perfect.
“Princess?”
“Don’t you fucking ‘princess’ me, you cheating bastard!” she screams as she whips my phone at me. Thankfully, I catch it. I’m not in the mood to get another one so soon.
“Princess, what are you…”
“Who is she?”
“Who?” I ask feigning innocence.
She points furiously at my phone, and I try to act shocked.
“Baby, it’s not what you think. I swear. I don’t know who that number is.”
I can see the messages still open on the screen.
“Yet you’ve been texting them for over a week. Fuck, Noah. You fucking bastard. I thought you were the one.”
