He keeps fucking me through every contraction. His rhythm turns rough and uneven, his control finally giving way.
“Paige.”
The sound of my name is strained and almost desperate.
“Come for me, Aiden.” I dig my heels into his ass and pull him deeper. “I want to feel you lose control.”
His body locks over mine. He thrusts deep and comes with a low groan, his cock pulsing inside the condom while his arms tighten around me.
We stay tangled together while our breathing slows.
Then his weight eases, and he kisses me slowly.
“Better than the book?” he asks.
A tired laugh escapes me. “The hero talked less.”
“He missed useful information.”
Aiden takes care of the condom and returns with water and a warm cloth. He gently cleans between my legs before pressing the bottle into my hand. He waits until I drink before climbing back into bed. I pull the quilt over us and settle against his chest.
His fingers comb through my damp hair.
I should tell him which side of the bed is mine.
I fall asleep before I can say it.
Chapter 11
Aiden
Iwake with Paige’s knee hooked over my thigh and her hair spread across my chest.
Pale morning light slips around the curtains, so it cannot be much past six. The water bottle from last night sits on her nightstand. Beside it is the paperback she hid from me the first time I touched her. Her breathing stays slow against my skin.
I have no idea which side of the bed is hers.
Last night, the answer was whichever side put her against me.
My hand rests at her waist beneath the quilt. I leave it there, though every instinct wants to pull her closer and decide this is how our mornings work now.
Waking up in her bed doesn’t give me the rest of her day.
Paige shifts, her knee sliding higher before her eyes open. She studies my chest, then lifts her head and finds me watching her.
“You stayed.”
“You fell asleep on me.”
“That doesn’t explain why you’re still here.”
“I considered leaving, but you had one leg wrapped around me.”
“I did not.”
“You’re doing it right now.”
She glances down at the knee hooked over my thigh. “That could be accidental.”
