I hold him close while he empties inside me, his face pressed against my neck and my name breaking apart in his mouth.

For several seconds, neither of us moves.

Aiden finally lifts his head. His hair is a mess, his breathing is wrecked, and the satisfied look on his face makes me want to drag him back inside me before we’ve even recovered.

“You reversed the claim,” he says.

“I improved it.”

A breathless laugh escapes him. “Of course you did.”

He eases out of me, and the intimate rush of warmth between my thighs makes his eyes drop.

His jaw tightens all over again.

“If you keep looking at me like that, we’re never leaving this room.”

“I’m considering it.”

“We have responsibilities.”

“I’m reconsidering those too.”

I laugh as he crosses to the small sink and returns with a clean cloth. He wipes between my thighs carefully, the tenderness of his touch completely at odds with the way he just fucked me.

Then he helps me down and retrieves my panties from beneath the table.

I take them from him and step into them. “Efficient.”

“I have a child waiting for me.”

“And I have a fundraiser.”

He smooths my skirt into place, but his palm stays curved around my hip.

“Mine,” he says quietly.

The word still sends heat through me, but I know what it means inside this locked room.

I cover his hand with mine. “You can call me yours when I’m the one choosing it.”

“I know.”

There’s no argument. No clever answer. Just the certainty in his voice.

Aiden retucks his shirt and fastens his belt while I use the dark screen of my phone to inspect my reflection. My hair advertises that a man had both hands buried in it. I rake my fingers through the strands, but the result only looks deliberately messy.

“You missed a piece,” Aiden says.

He steps behind me and frees a section caught beneath the back of my collar. His knuckles skim my neck as he smooths my hair down my back.

I turn and reach for his. “Hold still.”

“You weren’t concerned about neatness five minutes ago.”

“I wasn’t planning to return you to your family five minutes ago.”

“They’ve seen me disheveled.”
