Releasing my bite, I licked over the wound slowly as I pushed his underwear down beneath his cock and balls. Taking my time, I carefully nibbled up his neck and fucking finally got my hands on his dick. Benji let out a whimper that bordered on a sob, and I let him go and jerked my head up to see his eyes.

They were wet with tears, and I worried I’d rushed, that I hadn’t actually received the consent I’d been sure he’d given me, when he whined, “Nooooo. Don’t stop.”

Giving in to my baser instincts, I crushed my mouth over his, drinking in every gasp and moan as I squeezed his cock, stroking it at a punishing pace that no human could replicate. Benji about launched himself off my lap, but I held him securely with my other arm.

In mere minutes, his release spilled over my hand, and he went boneless. Gentling our kisses until they were nothing but a brush of lips, he whispered, “I’m so embarrassed. I can’t believe I came so fast.”

Chuckling, I leaned up to stare into his beautiful green eyes that were still wet with emotion. Knowing I was the cause of the radiant glow flushing his cheeks made me wonder why I’d bothered resisting this tempting little morsel for so long. “In all fairness to you, I’m sure you’ve never had a hand job like that.”

His face went dreamy. “No, that was amazing. Did you use vampire speed or something?”

Unable to resist him, I kissed the tip of his nose. “Just a little.”

“Oh.” He tried scooting off my lap. “I need to get you off, too. Let me suck you. Can I? Please.”

“Next time.”

“But I feel selfish.”

I desperately wanted to cup his face, but my hand was coated in his cum. “Benji, you’ve just given me more than you’ll ever know. Now, let’s get you cleaned up and into bed.”

“You’re sending me home?”

I shook my head. “No, you’ll sleep here tonight.”

“Will you lay with me?”

It was such a tempting offer, but there were things I knew I’d forgotten in the long years alone, so I had research to do with Ego in the picture now.

“Not tonight.”

He stood, pushed his pants to the floor, and whipped his shirt over his head to wipe himself. “I have—”

He waved me off. “I know. This was just easier.” Then, naked as the day he was born, he strode to my bed and fell forward, leaving his pert little ass in the air, beckoning me. “If you change your mind, feel free to join me at any time.”

Such a little shit. Grabbing a throw blanket off of a shelf, I threw it across his lower half, distracting myself from the alluring sight, and then I got to work.

Chapter six

Lysandro

Dealing with Ego was exhausting. I didn’t mind feeding the young vampire, but his stubborn refusal to learn anything about his nature concerned me. The days were passing, and his resolve wasn’t fading.

In a stunning turn of events, my young friend Scotty, who worked at Willowhope Manor, and to this point had spoken less than fondly of Ego when speaking about him on his visits to the library, had become the one human in town—outside of what I’d shared with Benji—who knew of the pop star’s turning. For a reason that neither of the two recognized yet, he’d become Ego’s biggest champion and spent hours in the evening with the fledgling.

“Scotty,” I said, “it’s important that he learn to use his fangs.”

It was near sunset, and since Scotty and I were both here before Ego arose for the evening, I attempted to stress my point to him once again.

“I know, Lysandro.” He ran his hand back through his hair in frustration.

“I get that he’s icked out by it, but this is who he is now.”

Scotty’s sweet face went contemplative. “I’m not sure it’s the biting that even matters. I think it’s all of it, and this is something he feels like he has control of.”

I understood that. I really did. He didn’t give his consent for this, and he was traumatized, but he wouldn’t be able to ever be around his family again if he didn’t learn how to have some control. They’d gotten so very lucky that Scotty soothed his beast instead of turning him into a raving maniac with bloodlust.

Delaney had supplied Ego with an amulet to dull the urge, but eventually, his natural tendencies would take over. There was very little magic or anything else in this world stronger than what made us who and what we were.
