“Thank you, Tiffany,” I said easily, giving her a charming smile. “Would you mind if we went ahead and took a peek around ourselves first? Then you could show us all the finer details afterward.”
“Oh,” she said, taken aback. “Sure. Yeah, that’s fine.”
“Thank you so much,” I said emphatically, leading the others inside.
Neither of them protested being away from Tiffany’s optimism. She was honestly an incredible real estate agent, and she listened, but she’d followed us closely in the other houses and we couldn’t talk freely.
We pushed through the front door and looked around. The place opened up into a wide living room. It was an open concept with the kitchen on one side. The windows behind the counter overlooked the lake.
The kitchen space was huge, with more pantry space than we could use as a pack, a double refrigerator, and gleaming countertops made of white marble. This place was built for a crowd.
“Damn, we’d be able to host an army here,” Lachlan said as he glanced around.
The living room had giant windows on both walls, and I could see outdoor seating and a nice detached garage.
We’d be paying an arm and a leg for lakefront property, but there was no doubt this place was gorgeous. Every aspect we’d seen so far screamed pack.
The dock at the edge of the property was empty. I could picture getting a boat to take out on the lake on summer days.
My alpha was almost content as we took in each new room.
Bedrooms, multiple bathrooms, spaces for offices and omega nests and dens. We had everything here we could need, including whatever Gavin would need to grow.
“This room would be perfect for Gavin,” Lachlan said as he pushed open the second door to reveal another room. “What kid wouldn’t kill for his own living room.”
He could have a large living room area, there was another den as well.
Give us a few days and a solid shopping trip and he’d have the room of his dreams. That kid could use some good in his life.
There was a fully furnished basement that would make an amazing workout area for the off-season, and laundry facilities to handle our gear and normal clothes.
When I stepped on the back deck, I knew this was exactly the place we needed. There was a sprawling yard that led down to the lake itself.
If we ever decided to have littles running around, at least it wasn’t right up against the lake. I’d have a fencing company come out and secure the property when that time came.
“God, I can almost picture some cozy campfires with our sexy omega by our side,” Lachlan said. This house had perked all three of us up.
August had been fairly quiet up to this point, but something shifted on his face as he stared out at the lake.
“This is it.”
It was a definitive statement. One that we’d already silently given our agreement to.
It might take a few weeks before it was officially in our name, but whatever counteroffers people tried to put up, we’d match.
There was no way someone was stealing this out from under us. This was our pack house. And step one in making sure our omega was safe.

Dhara
This morning, I was dragging my ass.
Every scream my mother hurled at the walls last night still echoed around inside my head. Sleep felt like a distant memory by the time Gavin and I walked to the diner parking lot.
I wasn’t sure how to face the world today but I really had no choice. Gavin still had school, and I still had work, regardless of the fact that my delta knew my darkest secret now. He probably shared it with the others by now, too.
