I pulled his face down and kissed him. “I’m here.”

Alaric cleared his throat. “I’ve brought you cake,” he said, standing and later returning with a two-layer white cream and lemon cake. “Samira picked it out for you. She said you like this sweet shite.”

“I do.” I kissed his cheek, and he blinked a bit dazed for a moment, nodding and taking his seat.

Thora cut everyone a slice and Kil helped her serve it to the whole table.

I’d had two plates already, yet he had not even touched his. He’d stared at me eating the whole time, a hand over the back rest of my chair and the tips of his fingers hovering and tickling my shoulder.

I broke a piece with my fork and lifted it to his mouth. “It tastes like you. Lemony.”

His dark brow hiked up. “Lemony?”

I nodded and he wrapped his pretty lips on the fork.

“Like it?” I asked, scooping some of the cream left on my plate with a finger and licking it. The cream was the best part.

He nodded, grabbing my hand to guide my finger and scoop some cream before sucking and licking it clean. “I missed your taste.”

My naked toes curled a little. “I missed your face.”

He flashed me a grin. “Want to sit on it later?”

Someone coughed and Kilian pulled back, lifting a cup of water to disguise his smirk.

“You know we can hear pretty well,” Nia said, chewing on some sourdough.

“My Nia, I’d be worried otherwise.”

“So,” Eren said, stretching back. “Who are you thinking of killing?”

“No one.”

He raised a brow. “That person is called no one?”

“Funny.”

Cai kicked my leg under the table and I jolted in my seat. “Who?”

The plate of cake before him flew right to his face. “If you want her attention, use words such as: excuse me, Snow, or, I have something to say,” Kilian all but gritted the words out.

My friend’s mouth was pulled in a sneer whilst he tried to clean his face. “Hey, Snow,” he enunciated. “Who were you thinking of?”

Kilian sipped on his water. “Much better.”

I looked back and forth to everyone. “No one.”

Yes, there was someone.

Everyone knew so, but they knew to not poke me on it.

I had barely given my goodbyes when Kilian threw me over his shoulder, a large hand wrapped around my naked thigh. “Here or Adriata?”

Oooh, choices! “Here.”

The second he put me on the bed, I crawled further back, heart beating out of my chest while I watched him undress. His body had grown bigger, muscles more defined, his skin even more marked with littering scars.

He undid his trousers with a hand and pointed to my underwear with his chin. “Pull them down for me, love. Show me your pretty little cunt.”
