“Are you requesting immunity?”
“No.”
The room becomes silent.
Mac continues.
“I’ll provide a full statement. Names. Locations. Everything I remember. After that, you can charge me.”
Rook studies him.
“Mac.”
“I need to do this.”
Vance watches Mac for several seconds.
“I won’t promise immunity. But cooperation matters. So does saving the evidence that may prevent future attacks.”
Mac nods.
“That’s more than I expected.”
The secure interview begins.
Mac speaks for nearly two hours.
He doesn’t excuse himself.
Doesn’t minimize what he signed.
When shame tightens his throat, he stops, breathes, and continues.
Fathom verifies details against the recovered files.
Every answer opens another door.
At the end, Vance removes his glasses.
“Mr. Stenson, remain with Shadow Division. For now, you are a protected cooperating witness.”
Mac looks at Rook.
Rook gives one nod.
“You have work to do.”
Purpose replaces the fear in Mac’s face.
“Yes.”
The call ends.
Rook turns toward the team.
“Vance’s review confirms the attack on the West Virginia facility was part of Graves’s assassination conspiracy. Our federal pursuit status is suspended indefinitely.”
Cobra leans back. “So we’re only unofficial fugitives now?”
