Lukas didn’t seem surprised by his presence, so he must have known he was there, but Rory shot him a dirty look as she rolled onto her back.
“Don’t talk about other girls while I’m in your bed naked, asshole.”
“Why? It pisses you off, and that’s my favorite kind of sex,” he smirked. “Besides, you’re in my bed fucking other guys, so fair is fair.”
“I’ll cut you, Skeeter Maddox.”
“Talk dirty to me, baby girl,” he chuckled, grabbing some clothes out of his closet. “Want to finish this argument in the shower?”
“Why would I want to do that?” she huffed with annoyance, sitting up with every intention of joining him.
“Easier to clean up the blood.” He freaked me out sometimes, I couldn’t lie, but she acted like he’d offered to buy her a bunch of flowers.
“Fine, but I’m in charge.”
“Of course you are,” he said sweetly, tugging her naked body from the bed and tossing her over his shoulder. “Well, I’ll let you think you are, anyway.”
She cursed him out as he carried her from the room, and I went to climb off Lukas, but he slid an arm around me to stop me.
“Just a little longer?” he murmured hopefully, and I happily snuggled into him, savoring it.
“You’re in a good mood this morning,” I noted, not really wanting to draw attention to it, but not knowing what else to say.
“I had some really good sex dreams last night,” he joked, tangling his legs with mine.
“How long was Skeet watching?”
“For a while. I wasn’t going to let him ruin it,” he grumbled, but he tensed a little when Caden wandered in.
“Skeet has some shit to handle so we’re heading to mine. You two can snuggle there, get up,” he grinned, and Lukas thankfully relaxed again at his casual approach.
“I’m comfortable.”
“You can get comfortable at mine too. C’mon,” he snorted, yanking the blanket away.
Lukas flipped him off but allowed me to climb off him so we could get dressed, and we decided to wait for Rory and Skeeter in the living room.
It sounded like they were going to be a few minutes from the way she was moaning.
Caden flicked the TV on while I made Lukas and I some coffee, and I did a double take when we joined them on the couch to see Tyler’s dad on the TV.
Tyler sat stiffly, taking the remote to turn the volume up.
“Walter, how does it make you feel?” the reporter asked, obviously halfway through a conversation.
“I’m so proud of him. Debuting in such a big movie is amazing, and he’s worked super hard to get here,” Walter answered, patting a guy’s shoulder with a big smile.
“What about your other son, Tyler? Is he making his debut any time soon? How did he handle the news about your secret love child?”
“Tyler is still living back at home in Ashburn Valley. He’s never liked the spotlight,” Walter chuckled, pulling the other guy closer under his arm. “He’s very proud of his brother though. At least one of my boys has followed in my footsteps.”
“Dude,” I said slowly, glancing at Tyler to see anger and heartbreak on his face.
Caden tried to drop an arm around his shoulders for support but he shrugged it off, not taking his eyes off the screen.
“Where’s Anika? Has she already moved back to Ashburn Valley? News of your divorce has started a lot of rumors,” the reporter rambled, and Walter laughed.
“Our lawyers are handling it. I have no idea where she is. When I saw her two months ago, she was out with her boy toy. Everyone paints me as the bad guy here, but she replaced me before we’d even decided to separate. She’s just using the excuse of my affair to—”
