I can’t help but squirm as I think about what it might feel like between my legs.
Bad girl. You don’t sleep with strange men. What the hell has gotten into me?
“Like what you see?” he quips.
I feel my cheeks heat. “I like your neck tattoos.”
“Thanks.” He smirks and takes another drink. “So, can I ask you what that was all about? You got a stalker or something?”
Sighing, I reach for the drink and take another sip even though I know I shouldn’t.
“That was my ex, Blaine. We were high school sweethearts. I broke up with him because I caught him cheating with his boss. I actually broke all ties with him and his family.”
Tank nods, knowingly. “And he’s not taking it well.”
I laugh sarcastically. “No, not at all. Even though it’s been a while since it all happened, he’s still trying. Much to my dismay. I just don’t know how I can get it across to him that it’s never, ever going to happen again. That ship has sailed.”
“I know I just met you and shit, but good fucking riddance. No one should be with a person that self-absorbed. I mean, for fuck’s sake, he made a comment about you being a fucking board in the bedroom but then proclaimed he wants you back. Which is it, and does he really think insulting you is going to work?” He shakes his head in dismay.
“He wasn’t wrong,” I mutter, making his eyes narrow.
“What wasn’t he wrong about?”
“I was probably boring in bed. I never orgasmed.”
A look I can’t quite name crosses his face as he tilts his head.
“What do you mean you’ve never orgasmed? Like in general or by a partner?”
I close my eyes. God, this is embarrassing.
“You can tell me, Delaney, no judgment,” he murmurs.
“I’ve given myself one, but I have never had one given to me by someone else.”
A slow smirk crosses his face as he takes a drink. “I could get you there.”
Something about his confidence makes my skin heat and desire fill me.
I shouldn’t do this. It isn’t me, but tonight I don’t want to be me. I want to be the woman who has a man like him staring at her like she’s the last piece of dessert and he is going to devour it.
Reaching forward, I grab the drink and finish it fast. When I set it down, I look him in the eye.
“Prove it,” I tell him quietly.
Tank
As soon as I open the hotel room door, she grabs me by my cut and starts kissing me.
Fuck yes.
With one arm I pick her up, and she wraps her legs around my hips, never breaking the kiss. Blindly I slam shut the door behind us and flip the lock.
The last thing I want right now is an interruption. I don’t need her changing her mind.
If there’s one thing I know for a fact that her ex wasn’t lying about, it’s that I’m not her type. Delaney has that whole Miss Honey thing going on from the movie Matilda. The only difference is Miss Honey was, well, pure sweetness, whereas Delaney has a bossy side.
She knows what she wants, and she isn’t afraid to go after it. Lucky for me, tonight she wants me.
