He leans back, pressing his tip at my entrance, and I’m ready to come undone. We’ve done this enough times that it’s much easier to take him inside me—deep and fast—and that’s exactly what he does.

It’s exactly what I need.

“You feel so good. So fucking perfect for me.” His breaths are sharp and intense. I feel him quivering nearly as much as I am.

I move my hips back; every inch of him feels like it’s more than a physical connection. And it is.

He loves me.

The minute he uttered those words, there wasn’t a doubt in my mind I wanted to say them back.

He picks up his pace, his hands tight on my hips as he thrusts into me. Quick. Hard. Claiming. What we’ve confessed tonight binds our bodies together like two pieces of welded steel. My breaths are short, panting. Shit. This isn’t enough. I still want—no—I need more.

“J-Johnny. Wait.”

He stills immediately. “You, okay?”

“Yeah, I just…” I can barely get the words out. “I want to look at you, your eyes, your face…I want to…I want to kiss you while you’re inside me.”

He slowly withdraws from me, my body cold at his loss. I can’t see, but if a facial expression could be a sound, I swear I can hear the smile on his face when he responds. “You got it, boss. On your back.”

I do as he instructs, salivating as he moves between my legs. He quickly presses his cock inside me as he leans forward. His arms bracket me on either side, my knees folding nearly to my shoulders as he places a soft kiss on my lips. “I got you, Walt. Always.”

I don’t have a chance to reply before his tongue finds mine; the feeling of kissing him while he’s buried deep within my walls is like finding the home I’ve wanted my entire life but never knew existed. He’s mine.

We fall into a frenzy of thrusts, moans, and growls before we both find our well-deserved releases. Collapsed and exhausted, we lay side by side staring at the ceiling, his fingers intertwined with mine.

“I can hear your heart pounding after that workout,” I joke, still trying to catch my breath.

He turns, the corners of his lips creeping up, highlighting those damn dimples that sucked me in that first day. “It never beat this fast until you.”

I pull our clasped hands tight to my ribcage.

“Same.”

EPILOGUE

JOHNNY

One Year Later

“Cheers to one year of Walt’s on Water and me signing my divorce papers!” Bethany screams across the bar, raising her vodka tonic above her head. I raise my brows across the bar to Walt, who is shaking his head and trying to hide the smile daring to peek out from behind his perma-scowl. You’d think the man’s body was fueled by the tears of his enemies. No one would ever guess the man under that exterior contained the sweetest heart to ever exist. Well, other than the sheer amount of pastries he’s able to consume on a daily basis. I smirk. You can’t have all that sugar pumping in without some kind of return on investment.

I guess that’s true about a lot of things though. Sometimes what’s on the inside doesn’t match the outside. This building here on Water Street looks like an ordinary bar, but I promise it’s anything but ordinary.

After Walt punched a guy defending me, word spread through the gay community that Walt’s was a safe place. Who wouldn’t feel protected with a bar owner willing to knock a guy’s lights out to stick up for someone? We don’t advertise, we don’t do anything to promote this place, but Walt’s has become exactly what he always wanted—a place for anyone to come and feel at home. I told him that first week this place was special…and a year later it still is.

It’s where I met the love of my life.

It’s where we first kissed.

It’s where we had our first fight.

It’s where we got to know each other as friends, then lovers.

And now it’s the only place I ever wanna be.

“You look deep in thought.” A hand wraps around my waist, the smell of his aftershave intoxicating as always. “What’s on your mind?”
