“The house is almost empty.”

Calisto’s shoulders jumped at Emma’s whisper. Hehadn’t noticed her follow him when he came upstairs.

“Oh?” he asked, turning to face her.

She stood in the doorway of the room directly acrossfrom the master bedroom. Her hip rested against the doorjamb, and she must havekicked off her heels. She stood barefoot, and looking more tired than ever.

“I said goodbye to the people who mattered. The restwere being shuffled out by Carter. He knows the passcode to lock up.”

Calisto swallowed thickly, wondering what Emma wasdancing around.

“He’s out for the night,” Calisto told her. “Someoneneeds to take his alcohol away.”

“As long as he stays away from me, I find him a littlemore bearable when he is drunk,” she confessed.

Calisto shook his head. “That’s awful.”

“It’s the truth.” Emma turned on her heel to enter thebedroom, but shot a glance over her shoulder. “Would you make sure the house isempty, Calisto?”

Her tone dropped a level.

Just enough to be inviting.

Calisto should have refused her right then.

“Of course, Emmy,” he said.

“The bedroom you used when you stayed here—it’s on thethird floor, right?”

His heart raced at her innocent question, and hisblood heated.

Were they going to do this again?

Here in this house?

Like this?

Calisto knew how wrong it was.

How foul.

It was a whole new level of low.

But fucking hell, he hadn’t been able to forget howmuch he liked having Emma underneath him. His memories didn’t do her justice. He’d wanted to fuck her again from the very second he’d came inside her thelast time.

It wasn’t enough.

Once more still wouldn’t be enough.

“The only bedroom at the end of the hall,” he toldher.

“You should take it for the night. No need to driveacross town. It’s late.”
