“¡Ay!”

“But you can use it.”

“Okay. We can…” Maria José cut off in the middle of the sentence, and now she sounded angry. “Don’t you dare make that face, Diego. Or you, Andrés. He’s our brother.”

“Sorry, man. My bad.” Austin could hear the sincerity in the deep voice.

“Yeah, sorry. We won’t… We should have known when you were a kid. Uh, sorry if we teased you. You should, um, do what you want.”

It wasn’t the most eloquent apology or the clearest support, but Austin felt like it was a pretty good start.

Teo seemed to think so, too. “Thank you. I appreciate it. I apologize for biting my own arm when I was four and telling mamá that you did it.”

There was an indignant gasp, followed by more childhood stories and some good-natured ribbing. Even amidst the teasing, Austin could hear the tenderness when they talked about Teo, the quiet boy who enjoyed his books and colored pencils, or helping his mama in the kitchen, when all of the other boys were tearing around the house.

Austin felt like he could finally relax. He’d never had siblings who joked like this—just one much older, serious brother—but he could see that Teo was in his element.

Teo’s mother shouted from the kitchen. “Is that boy eating? Tell him he needs to eat, Teo.”

Austin obligingly picked up the soft corn tortilla stuffed with chicken tinga. “Everything is delicious!” he called back. Then he leaned into Teo’s ear. “I think your mother is already planning our wedding.”

Teo bumped his shoulder. “I think she is, too.”

Austin nudged him back. “Can you remind her that I have to ask you first?”

It was only after the words came out of his mouth that he realized what he’d said. Though he wasn’t going to take it back.

He wasn’t anywhere near proposing now. But maybe in a year? He’d like to think of things going that way.

Teo wrapped an arm around his back, pressing their bodies together. “I can tell her that.”

“Are they kissing?” someone interjected.

“No,” Teo huffed. “We’re not kissing.”

“Kiss, kiss, kiss, kiss!” Maria José started the chant.

“¡Bésa, bésa, bésa, bésa!” another voice joined in.

“Your siblings act like teenagers,” Austin said over the din.

“Seriously.” But then Teo’s lips were meeting his, and Austin was feeling just naughty enough to slip him a bit of his tongue.

He was so proud of his baby.

Teo

Teo rolled over in bed, snuggling his Daddy from behind as he woke up. Somehow, they always ended up this way, with him as the big spoon.

He still felt weird about it sometimes, like Daddy should be wrapped around him instead of the other way. But Daddy said he made a good blanket and pillow, so how could he complain?

He nuzzled in drowsily, before realizing that Daddy wasn’t asleep. His damp hair smelled of shampoo, so he must have gotten up and showered before coming back to bed.

He was probably as nervous and excited for today as Teo was.

He hadn’t gotten dressed, though. Daddy pushed back into him, that slender ass cupping Teo’s heavy cock. “Are you ready for today, sweet girl?”
