Daddy was going to love it. Since he couldn’t see, Mateo had been paying extra attention to things like textures and scents.
Jamie: Did you finally choose your clothes?
Mateo: I think so.
That had been a whole emergency video chat. If Austin wanted him to wear something pretty to a restaurant, he needed to figure it out stat. Jamie wanted him to wear all sorts of flamboyant things. But he was hoping for something more understated. Something that wouldn’t look ridiculous.
He’d finally decided on a button-down shirt he already had that was pink with tiny blue dots. It was probably something that other people would just wear to work, but since he usually wore paint-splattered t-shirts, it felt more sophisticated and dressed up. And maybe a little bit pretty.
He’d considered buying some of the things that Jamie had been sending him over the past month, but Jamie had gotten very cagey all of a sudden.
He was almost certain that Daddy and Jamie were colluding behind his back.
Not that he minded too much. He truly didn’t want Austin spending too much money on him, even if it made him feel warm down to his toes. Apparently being spoiled rotten was part of the whole Daddy kink.
Jamie: Go with the pink. It’s cute. And wear the top three buttons open.
Mateo: Thanks. I have to go back to work.
So that he could see Austin as soon as possible.
Jamie: Have fun tonight?
Jamie: And then tell me all about it!
Jamie: Bye, boo!
Mateo: Bye
If time had seemed endless before, it went by in a snap now. He needed to finish hanging the gutter, unload the truck, race back to the house for a quick shower and change, and then drive the forty-five minutes north to Portland and find Austin’s office.
He was practically dancing in his seat by the time he double parked in front of the sleek dark building and sent the final text.
Austin came out a few minutes later with a large laptop bag, looking harried and a little stressed.
When Mateo called his name, a huge smile broke out.
Austin tapped his way carefully over to the truck. “Hey babe.”
Mateo flushed. He hadn’t quite expected Austin to say that out in public. He waited for Austin to get all the way inside before he answered. “Hey, Daddy.”
Austin’s smile grew even bigger, and he leaned in for a kiss. How could Mateo say no?
So they kissed, right there in the cab of his truck with his family name painted on the side, while the Portland traffic zoomed around them and anyone could see right in.
It was exhilarating.
It was like he was an entirely different person here.
“Mmmmm… You smell good,” Austin complimented as he pulled away.
“Thanks.” Mateo had pulled the it’s-my-sister’s-birthday thing again at another store and spent half an hour testing out some lighter, more feminine scents. And adding a bit to his makeup collection, now that he knew what he wanted. It was all tucked away in his bag in the truck bed.
“So, where to?”
“I was thinking we could go back to my place to park. I want to change my clothes, then there’s a nice restaurant just around the corner.” Austin slid a hand onto his knee. “And if you want to dress up, too, I wouldn’t be adverse.”
“Um… I’m already wearing… I mean. It’s just a plain shirt. But it’s pink.”
