“Of course not,” Remi assured him, completely relaxed. “I might have a very cute shirt in my room, though, with a porcupine on it and little snaps at the bottom. I bet it would fit you just right.”

Wow. That had just been so… easy. And a present? “Like a baby onesie? For me?” he asked. He wanted it already. A present that Remi had gotten just for him… er… for whatever boy he found this weekend, he supposed. Still, he was lucky enough to be that one.

“Just for you. So now that I know you like porcupine onesies, what else do you like?”

Isaac shrugged. “Toys? A Daddy to take care of me? I’m usually about three or four, but sometimes I regress down to infancy or up to eight or nine. Is that OK?”

Remi looked pleased. “That’s perfect.”

“You’re sure? That’s a pretty wide range.”

“I’ll just follow your lead. In fact, you’ve just made Daddy very happy.”

Isaac beamed. He’d made Daddy happy just by being himself, and that felt amazing. No, beyond amazing. Like everything he’d always wanted and never quite managed to have.

“Anything else you want me to know?”

“I mean… probably a thousand things. But can we just… play? Since we’re not doing… other things?”

“Sure, sweetheart. But I’m going to make a rule.”

Isaac shivered. Five minutes of having a Daddy and he was already getting his first rule.

“First, obviously, use your safewords. Any time. Always. What are they?”

“Pineapple. I don’t like it.”

“OK. And to slow down?”

“I don’t really have one for that. You’ll usually know if I don’t like something.”

Daddy laughed. “I bet I will. If you want to check in, just tell me. And yellow still works.”

“OK, Daddy.” He was really enjoying saying that.

“So that wasn’t actually the rule. That’s just always the right thing to do. The rule is that if we just dive into things, we need to have a time out each day to talk about how things are going. I’m thinking dinner time.”

“I can do that.”

“Good boy.”

Isaac’s heart was already bouncing over time. He was Daddy’s good boy.

“So, now that you’re my special boy for the weekend, do you still want to go to the mixer? I certainly won’t be looking for any other boys.”

“Can we, Daddy? Jamie said it would be fun. There are games and I want to meet everyone.”

Daddy shook his head like it might not be his idea of fun, but he was chuckling at the same time. “Of course, baby boy.”

Oooh! He already had Daddy wrapped around his little finger. He couldn’t wait to tell Tommy.

“Let’s go!” Now that Isaac had made up his mind, he was eager to get started. He popped off Daddy’s lap and tugged at his hand.

“You’re not a shy one, are you?” Daddy asked affectionately, rising more slowly from the chair.

“Unh uh. I love people. You might have to drag me away.”

“That’s fine with me. Anyway, I have a secret weapon.”
