When Daddy finally tried to pull away, Danger couldn’t bear it. He needed him close.
Daddy leaned up on one elbow. I have to take off the ropes.
Danger shook his head. He didn’t care about the ropes. In fact, he hoped he had glorious bruises tomorrow, though he doubted he would. Daddy had been too careful. But he didn’t want Daddy to leave him.
Daddy pulled back anyway, but a moment later he felt the cool, blunt tips of the safety scissors cutting a line down the ropes that crossed his chest. Two more quick snips freed his waist and legs. OK, so the knots down there might make him sore tomorrow. Daddy sat him up for just long enough to pull out the ruined ropes and then his perfect weight was back, holding Landon close.
Daddy rolled them both onto their sides, keeping their legs intertwined.
You cut your ropes, Landon signed into the intimate space between them. Good rope was expensive, and Danger had no idea how much these had cost.
Daddy shook his head. I took care of my boy. We’ll practice untying knots another time.
Landon snuggled against his chest, feeling worn out in the best possible way. And Daddy just held him, keeping him warm and safe, stroking his back.
Slowly, other thoughts drifted in. About how he used to feel antsy after scenes, but with Daddy he just felt boneless and comfortable. It wasn’t every time, but so often now he ended scenes ready to fall asleep instead of jangling and ready to run. A sappy side of him liked to imagine that it was love, but he suspected it was just that Daddy read him better and planned better scenes to fit his needs so that he could truly let go.
Which was maybe what love was anyway.
Daddy must have noticed him stirring, because he kissed his forehead and rolled him onto his back. I’ll be right back, Daddy explained. I’m just going to clean you up, and then we can sleep.
Landon still didn’t want Daddy to go, but he knew that complaining wouldn’t get him anywhere. He drifted back into the blanket, letting Daddy mop the sticky and rapidly drying semen off his chest and groin, then use a second, softer cloth and some cream to clean the makeup from around his eyes.
Daddy gently pulled a new pair of pajama pants up his legs, which he knew weren’t the unicorn ones because they were softer, but he didn’t want to open his eyes. It was nice letting Daddy take care of him like this, extending that feeling of comfort and belonging.
Daddy tugged until the blanket and sheets were out from under him and then tucked him in. A new blanket appeared on top, probably because the fuzzy one was gross, though Landon wouldn’t have minded snuggling up in it again.
God, he was never going to see that blanket the same way again.
Daddy slipped into bed beside him, but Landon held out his hand to keep him from turning off the light. All of his swirling thoughts had coalesced into a few things that he needed to say.
I might have subdrop tomorrow, he explained, since he needed to get it out of the way. It had nearly ruined things for them before.
Dustin’s eyes widened, but he recovered quickly. OK. We have a plan now. I’ll text you to check in while you’re at work. And if you need anything, just let me know. I’ll stop what I’m doing and come get you. Really. Anything you need.
What about work? Daddy had been putting in so many hours, and was so stressed out, that it seemed like a fair question.
You’re more important. I’ll spend all day thinking about you, anyway. Maybe you can come sit with me in my office when you get home.
I won’t distract you? He was feeling extra clingy, but he usually tried to avoid Dustin’s office when he was working. Maybe he could sneak in tomorrow. Even being in the room would be nice.
Dustin chuckled, since Landon had been known to go out of the way to distract him. You’re allowed to distract me. If you have subdrop, you’ll want tea and cuddles, and maybe your journal, right?
Yeah.
Then that’s what we’ll do. Dustin brushed a soft kiss over his lips.
There was one other thing Landon had meant to ask. Did you have a nice evening with Zhong?
Dustin looked surprised, and then smiled. Yeah, I did. I didn’t expect you to be thinking about that right now.
You just looked very happy. And I wanted you to know that I was happy that you were happy.
Daddy beamed. Yeah?
Yep. That’s all. You can turn out the light now. I think it’s really late. Landon found himself yawning. Now that he said his things, he was done for the night.
Yeah, it is. Goodnight, my love.
