Jamie probably shouldn’t have even asked Neil to stay longer, but even when Neil was busy, Jamie kind of liked having him there. Yesterday afternoon, Jamie had curled up on one of the porch chairs to read for a bit while Neil was working, and it has been really nice.

Peaceful, of course. But the best part had been having Neil look up at Jamie every few minutes and smile.

“Will you come sit with me later?” Neil asked, like he’d been reading Jamie’s mind.

“Yeah?” Jamie wasn’t sure why he was so surprised, but it still kind of floored him that Neil wanted him around. “It’s supposed to rain later, so I can’t do much outside. Maybe you could work in the atrium? It’s really pretty in the rain.”

“That sounds perfect.” Neil leaned in and gave Jamie a lingering kiss, all soft breath and gentle lips until he was just melting inside.

Then Neil gave a final wave and headed out the door. Maybe it was pathetic, but Jamie didn’t want to do a climb today when he just had a few hours left of Neil’s time.

Daddy snuggled up behind Jamie, wrapping his arms around Jamie’s torso. “How are you doing, sweetheart?”

“Good! Great,” he said brightly.

Daddy ran one hand up to his neck, squeezing just hard enough to have Jamie melting into him. It was the best reminder that Jamie was Daddy’s. His body, his mind, his heart, and even his breath. “Don’t lie to me baby.”

Jamie whimpered instead of answering. How could he possibly think when Daddy owned him so completely?

Daddy tightened his grip and Jamie could feel his pulse beat against Daddy’s fingers. “Tell me what you’re feeling.”

“Good. I’m having a good week. I like having him here.” It was true. It just wasn’t everything. Jamie wasn’t sure what everything was, though.

Daddy loosened his hand, but didn’t let Jamie go. “You know, Neil’s not Henri.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?” Jamie grumbled.

“You like him,” Daddy answered instead.

Maybe. Possibly. But Jamie wasn’t going to admit it. “Do you?” Jamie’s heart beat faster, but he wasn’t sure if he was thrilled or panicking.

“He’s a very sweet boy,” Daddy commented lightly, but Jamie got the sense he was supposed to be getting some kind of message. Now Jamie would be stewing on the undertones all day.

Neil was a sweet boy, though. And an intelligent, capable man. A good listener. A friend who liked working beside Jamie in the sunshine. A frazzled lawyer who sighed happily every time he looked up at Jamie while he was working. Someone who made Jamie’s pulse leap and dick fill, just like he clearly did for Daddy.

“You know I always love you, don’t you?” Daddy nuzzled his scruffy cheek against Jamie’s. Again, it seemed like there was a bit of a message there.

“Yeah. And I’ll always love you.” It was true. Jamie knew how lucky he was to have Daddy in his life. He didn’t need anyone else.

Probably.

But there was something Jamie had to know. “Can we invite him back sometime?” Then he added quickly. “He needs to take more vacations.”

“I think that’s an excellent idea,” Daddy agreed. “Maybe for the next Cuffd Destination event?”

Jamie scowled. That rubbed him the wrong way and he wasn’t sure why. It would definitely be safer, though. Clearer.

“Maybe the weekend before that, then?”

Jamie nodded.

“Excellent. I’ll ask him.” Daddy gave Jamie a little nip on his ear that had shivers racing through him. God, was there enough time for Jamie to just pull Daddy into the other room and...?

Ty’s voice broke into that fantasy. “Hey, Bas. If you’re done groping your boy, the plates are ready to go out.”

Jamie groaned and Daddy bit him hard on the shoulder. “This afternoon,” he promised.

When Daddy pushed the breakfast tray out to the other room, Jamie finally had time to look down at his own breakfast.
