Yep.

He tells me when to brush my teeth and go to bed almost every night.

Over text?

Yes, but I’ve been spending the night more often.

Wait, really? I knew you did once or twice, but more often?

Maybe once a week. I sleep with my paci, too.

Wow. Landon shook his hand at the wrist, drawing out their impressed surprise. And you’ve been keeping this from me why?

Because it wasn’t supposed to mean anything. That’s why I’ve been going on dates with other people.

Seriously?

I mean, he says that he and Dustin used to sleep in the same bed all the time, too.

Landon narrowed his eyes. You know that Dustin considers himself to have been in a romantic relationship with Zhong, right? Even now he says that I should consider Zhong to be his secondary partner or something like that.

No way. Does Zhong know this? Because, like, he’s still in love with Dustin. And… God, what if they just want to get back together? Am I screwing this up for you?

Landon shook his head. Nope. Daddy and I are solid. He was really clear with me about how he feels about Zhong and how he feels about me, and that we would never be competing for the same affection from him. He says he’s talked about it with Zhong too, even if Zhong doesn’t think about it the same way.

Ash sighed, then shoveled more ice cream into their mouth. That’s good then. I’m glad that… well, that all three of you are figured out.

Landon gave Ash a lascivious smile. Oh yes. We also agreed that Daddy thinks it’s cute when I flirt with other people. He placed a hand on Ash’s knee and slid it upward meaningfully, a kind of demonstration of what could happen.

Ash’s skin lit up everywhere he touched, but they still drew back. Were they putting all of the pieces together right? Sorry, Ash signed faintly. Was that a proposition?

Just a proposition to flirt.

Ash’s heart rate slowly drifted back to normal. Today was already crazy enough. Ash had been flirting meaninglessly with Landon for years, so a couple months with Landon avoiding it because of Dustin had mostly been weird.

Hang on… really? Ash asked. Didn’t you guys break up back in February or whatever because you were flirting?

Yeah, but that was because I was being an asshole.

Yeah, you really were. They both laughed.

But it meant I got to know you… so maybe it was worth it. His eyes locked with Ash’s, conveying an excessively seductive message of love and longing.

Ash gave him a shove. Goof.

Landon grinned back.

Alright, I’m down for that, Ash agreed. I assume the purpose of this flirtation is for Dustin to see it?

Definitely. It’s hot as fuck when Daddy gets all possessive as long as I know he’s not really angry.

Damn. That sounds amazing. And Ash even got to play a little tiny role in it.

I know, right? I don’t want to mess around at Escape or the munch or anything. More where it’ll be interpreted the right way. And you’re kind of my favorite person now. Except for Daddy, of course.

Ash felt himself beaming. Alright, so they didn’t have a Daddy, but being Landon’s favorite person was pretty amazing, too.

Well, uh, you’re kind of my favorite person, too. Except for Zhong. God, they sounded like they were in kindergarten. And you know I’ve kind of been daydreaming about you for years. I mean—not like I was going to do anything about it. But, well, you know. They were already blushing, so that couldn’t make it any worse and Landon already knew it. It just felt different saying it.
