Ash: have you talked about it?

Landon: yeah.

Ash: did you go over the logistics of subdrop and whatever his bad scene was?

Landon: Kind of? Maybe not.

Landon: I mean, I felt like we talked about it.

Landon: Dammit. He probably still has questions.

Ash sent a GIF with someone holding a megaphone. It said “talk to him” across the top in big letters.

Landon rolled his eyes, but he was feeling a bit better. It actually hadn’t occurred to him that their prior conversation hadn’t been sufficient.

Landon: What would I ever do without you?

Ash: i know. I’m a genius.

Ash: now you owe me chocolate.

Ash: i’ve seen you give advice like this to other people. you just suck at doing it for yourself.

Landon: That’s why I have you. I’ll buy you a cupcake.

Ash: Go get your kink on.

Ash: And then tell me all about it.

Landon: Enjoy your game.

Ash sent back a GIF of an excited puppy dancing on top of a board game, the pieces flying everywhere.

Landon shoved his phone into his pocket. Having adult relationships was fucking hard. So much harder than anything he’d tried to figure out with his three-month exes.

But he really wanted to make it to month four. The idea of failing made him feel physically sick.

He wanted Dustin to be proud of him. And he really did enjoy the other things they did together. He was just needy and wanted more.

The idea of another conversation today was exhausting.

Should he ask Dustin to cancel the dinner plans so he could have a Lena day?

What he really wanted was some Daddy time. Or better yet, some time for Lena to be with her Daddy? He felt shivery just thinking about it.

At least being Lena would feel better.

Tentatively, he pulled out his phone again.

Landon: I might be Lena tonight.

Dustin: Lucky me. You never have to tell me though. Unless you want to get me excited.

That was the problem with all of this. Even when they were being vanilla, Dustin was so perfect in so many ways. It made the stakes high.

Landon: I’m not sure I’m comfortable being Lena in a new place.

Dustin: I’ll support you whatever you want to do. You just let me know.
