And that, right there, was why he was going dancing.

He marched up to the door, glad that there wasn’t a line yet on this damp, wintry night, and swung it open.

He handed over his ID. Thank fuck he’d gotten his gender marker changed a few months ago. The three hours at the DMV was completely worth it to not have the bouncer take a second, third, and fourth look at his clothes and face.

With a few routinized words, the bouncer returned his ID, stamped his hand, and waved him through. Around the corner, he paid the cover fee, and then he was inside.

The music was loud, but not as loud as he expected. And, probably because it was still ridiculously early, it wasn’t that crowded.

He scanned the warehouse-style open space. There was a cluster of small tables with chairs at one end and another island of taller tables to stand around at the other. Most of the space was the dance floor, lit by disco lights that colored the dancers’ exposed skin as they turned.

Mostly what Saul noticed was that everyone was very, very male. There was a gaggle of women in one corner, looking fierce and punky and very queer. There was a lesbian couple on the dance floor, staring into each others’ eyes and dancing much slower than the beat warranted.

Otherwise, it was a very gay, masculine space. One that Saul didn’t feel like he’d been invited to.

Men danced together like liquid sex on the floor, hands roving over muscular pecs, asses grinding against cocks.

There was just so much skin. It was like everyone was required to take off their shirts the moment they walked in the door. There were twinks with smoothly shaved chests gyrating to the heavy beat and bears with leather halters over their manly mats of hair.

Saul’s eyes kept settling, though, on the older men. The ones with dark jeans and chest hair shot through with silver. The ones who looked like Daddies were supposed to look.

One was even dancing with a younger man who looked like Levi. Saul’s heart skipped a beat, though it took only a second for Saul to see that it wasn’t him.

Saul knew he was playing into stereotypes, which he hated when other people did. Most of the kink community worked really hard to let people know that all sizes, shapes, and ages could take on any role. But a huge part of Saul still wished he could look like that.

He reminded himself again that the only one who mattered in all of this was Levi. Levi and that radiant smile it would put on his face.

He continued his perusal down the neon-lit bar. There were yet more men, lounging against the wooden counter and chatting each other up. One couple was making out while they waited for their drinks.

There were just a few bar stools toward the far end, as Saul imagined that once the audience picked up people would be fighting their way to the bar through a crowd.

Finally, he spotted Levi, perched on the second-to-last chair.

His radiant smile was turned toward another man.

Saul fought down the urge to bolt. This must be what Levi was talking about when he said that his exes had gotten angry with him for flirting. He might not even realize he was doing it. Or he might know he was flirting, but just enjoy it as a way of connecting with people.

Saul trusted him. He really did. He wasn’t even jealous of the other man so much as he was… insecure. Deeply, deeply insecure.

He had the thought again that Levi should have been snapped up by some other Daddy long, long ago. But then he remembered the defeated look on his face when he explained how he’d been turned down. The anguish in his voice over the phone this morning when he’d thought Saul would call off the relationship over a conversation with his best friend.

Saul squared his shoulders and strode toward the bar. He circled around a bit because—and he knew this was stupid—the bar stools were really high and he’d look even shorter if he were standing while Levi was sitting.

He slid into the chair behind Levi and then tapped his shoulder.

Levi turned to him with a jerk of confusion that morphed into a wide smile. “Daddy!” he exclaimed. He slid off his stool and into Saul’s arms, nestling between his legs and leaning in for a breathless, needy kiss.

As soon as their lips broke apart, Levi nuzzled over to his ear and spoke in a breathy whisper. “Daddy, I’ve been waiting for you all day. I need to come so bad and I missed you. I don’t even want to dance any more. Just take me home and be with me.”

Sweet fuck. Saul had never heard more beautiful words. Every time he started to doubt, it was like Levi just blew through it with his innocent need and honest desire. With Levi squirming against him and kissing his neck, whispering “Please, Daddy” in his ear with that breathy voice, he felt invincible.

Saul wrapped his legs around his boy’s hips, trapping him while their groins pressed together. Levi rocked against him, his cock rubbing firmly against Saul’s packer. The angle wasn’t quite right for Saul to get all the sensations, but just knowing that Levi was getting off on feeling that bulge was a powerful aphrodisiac.

Levi was wearing some ridiculously tiny t-shirt which left half his torso exposed to Saul’s wandering hands. He was smooth and hard in all the right places.

Levi nuzzled around to his other ear. “Daddy, you’re so hot. Take me home now?”

He gave his boy a sharp slap on the ass, which, predictably, made him moan and thrust even harder.
